Number5
Look's like Coach Reid is ready for a war....good read, even has jokes! http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=62899 Click link for full article Reid, Eagles Ready For 'Dogfight' January 3, 2007 By CHRIS McPHERSON Head coach Andy Reid is not going to lie. He expects Sunday's Wild Card playoff game against the New York Giants to be a "dogfight." He doesn't have to think that way. The Eagles are enjoying a five-game win streak, the longest to end the regular season since 1949. That Eagles team won the NFL Championship. The Giants lost six of seven games before ousting Washington 34-28 last Saturday to earn the No. 6 seed. But if you think Reid would be overconfident, think again. He's maintained the same demeanor through this entire season. Yes, even when the Eagles were left for dead after losing five of six games midseason, Reid kept his composure. Blessed with a quick wit, Reid snuck in a joke during his Wednesday press conference when asked how he kept his cool. "I give you guys a lot of credit for helping me stay even keel," said Reid to the media. For a moment, there was silence. No one realized it was a joke. After the media got up to speed, Reid just simply explained that his persona is always going to be the same.

Number5
I'm pissed at myself for ever doubting Andy Reid. I really am. It's ok WB, if it weren't for my use of w_ed, I probably would have given up as well....but the fact is that you are here supporting him now that is important. We all (Eagles fans and members of this site for over 3 years) we are the ones who know how passionately you feel about this team! :notworthy
jrockster21
I'm pissed at myself for ever doubting Andy Reid. I really am. I still say Eagles are winning in spite of Reid, not because of him. Best thing for that team would be to fire him. Isn't Morningwheg (sp?) calling the plays now? And JJ has gotten the defense to step up a little...what has Reid done to deserve your forgiveness? (Besides giving up playcalling because he sucks at it)
DaveMason
...do you even know what a head coach does? Most head coaches don't call every play. Morningweg is doing a good job now that his sole responsibility is calling the plays on offense, but do you really think he's a better head coach than Andy Reid? And do you really think FIRING their head coach would be the "best" thing for them right now? Right now, in the middle of the playoffs? To actually fire their head coach? I mean, are you joking? I seriously can't tell.

No...what does a head coach do? :dunce: If it involves eating cheesesteaks and clogging arteries, Andy is doing a GREAT job!!
Big Weirdo
Andy may be overweight but did you see that lard Charlie Weis? Andy looks like a tri-athlete compared to him! Wow!

redhog
Parcells has the bigger boobies, look I would kill for Andy Reid as our coach, the luckiest thing for the Eagles is the fact that he woke up and handed over the playcalling. Reid has built that team into a year in and year out (except last year) contender. He went after building up both his offensive and defensive lines. That o-line is just pushing people around. In the Dallas game on Christmas they dominated the boys and their lg (i think) Andrews is a stud. Philly's defense plays the best when they have a lead, Johnson likes to pressure the hell out of the other teams. I am jealous that philly got such a good coach, I'll admit when they hired him I laughed my butt off, boy was I wrong.
Big Weirdo
Andy's biggest weakness is in-game coaching. Handing over the playcalling was a major step in helping the team this year. He may have *finally* realized it, too. With Marty calling the plays the play call gets in faster, there is more running involved and the 2:00 drill is much more effective. The biggest problem now is they're still wasting time outs. That is really annoying.

Ironically, their worst loss of the season (IMO) to Tampa was because they DIDN'T use a timeout...

I was most impressed with the way the Offense marched down the field in like 35 seconds at the end of the first half against the Cowboys for a field goal. There were several times this year when that would have been a "run it up the gut" 2-3x and jog into the locker room. Huge momentum turner. robotfire
Andy Reid is one of the best coaches in the league. No team wins "in spite of" their coach. People said that about Madden, too, but it's just absurd. A bad coach puts a bad team on the field year after year. A good coach puts a good team on the field year after year. Andy Reid, by my calculations, is a good coach.

Westbrook36
I'm the head coach. dock is my offensive coordinator. ****, I'll go with Henry to run the defense. tr1 is a solid tactics guy, he is running the special teams. We win the Superbowl if we are coaching Switzer's Cowboys team.
Destino
What is Andy Reid's record. That tells you about his coaching ability. I seem to remember the eagles dominating the NFC East for a number of years. Sometimes good teams don't win it all, just look at the Steelers. Lucky for them they have smart owners that don't junk the coach for being very good but not good enough. If you have a coach in this league that can win in the regular season and the post season, as Andy Reid has done many times, keep him. You get rid of him and you could end up with a Norv Turner. Just be damn happy you have a consistent winner. Could be worse, we skins fans know all about that.
DWinzit
I'm pissed at myself for ever doubting Andy Reid. I really am. You and much of your Eagles brethren shat on Andy and JJ through the season. Who has bigger man-boobies, Andy Reid or Bill Parcells? This is the one contest this season Parcells dominates versus Reid! Paging Barry Switzer  He was the ultimate puppet coach. He was handed the most talented NFL team and a real good staff.
