skinfan2k
also said some people are afraid to speak up because the redskins may be their only employer and that cp has no fears in going to the coaches because he knows he will find a job if he gets cut

JoeGibbsThickandthin
Byner is the main snitch. Pretty sad. He played with Gibbs on the super bowl team in 92.

bulldog
there's no sense covering up the wound here any longer. the whole LEAGUE smells this festering sore. time to put some antibiotics on it and then bandage it up so it heals properly. if Gibbs really is willing to lay his ego aside he will size up the situation and see that the team needs a front office with people that actually fill out their suits and produce value fo the organization that will mean some loss of control/power for him and that is the price of righting this ship and doing what he promised to do, come back to reinstill a sense of what the Redskins used to be and get the team back to contender status. kleese
Summary: Portis ripped Gibbs for: 1. His approach to camp 2. The way he deals with our own free agents 3. The way he deals with other free agents 4. His approach to off-season workouts 5. His offensive philosophy 6. His interaction with the coaching staff And let's not forget that Portis started all of this by ripping Gibbs for playing him in pre-season. I hope they ship Clinton out with Lloyd-- I really do. Gibbs basically just ADMITTED yesterday that he messed up and will re-evaluate everything starting now-- and then he comes Clinton tossing dirt on the grave--- sleazy if you ask me. scruffylookin
He also pretty much slammed Saunders with the blocking schemes they used earlier in the season. He said this Oline is good at drive blocking, not pulling. He said that Thomas was their best puller but Derrick Dockery was not good at it. Dockery was just as likely to fall over his own feet as actually hit a defensive back.
kwitt
I know people view this as Clinton being a "true Redskin" but I have a deep-seeded suspicion that he and Gibbs have been on the outs since Clinton's comments after his pre-season injury. Basically, all of Clinton's talk right now is semi-veiled criticism of Gibbs. I'm telling you, Lloyd is as good as gone, and I think #26 may be on his way out also. I'm not even starting the "should" we trade Portis stuff-- just making a prediction. You may be onto something here.

pgitta
God, some of you are nuts, and this is a disaster. If you think one single bit of good will come out of this, you're crazy. This is JUST what the national media was drooling for, and now they have it. This is more depressing than anything that happened this season. I've always loved Portis, and now I wouldn't care if he was gone next year.
kleese
Man, I've never been more furious with a Redskins player than I am right now. Clinton just showed his true colors, IMO-- a whiner, a finger-pointer, and he tossed a very good man (Gibbs) who just admitted his wrongs, and is also by the way, Clinton's BOSS under the bus. Bush league from Portis. Total bush league.
CounterTrey
Damn this team and organization is just a total mess....Every day one hears really bad news about what is going on in the organization and this doesn't bode well for the future... We are the laughing stock of the NFl for a reason..

Ship him out for what?? Telling it like it is??? If you rather sit back and listen to Gibbs keeping telling us nothing in press conferences then that's on you As much time as the fans put into this football team I'm glad someone has the balls to speak up Fact is that Gibbs itchy trigger finger on trades and big name FA cost up big time this season and you want to ship Clinton out for telling the truth?? Please if anyone needs to be shipped out it's this pathetic front office

kleese
Look, we just finished a terrible season. Gibbs looked sick about it. He admitted his wrongs. He vowed to make changes. He said he's sticking it out. IMO, you just let 2006 die and move on....even though CP may have made some VALID points, it's still an unwise, insubordinate move that really changes my opinion about him. And you know, he's been sitting on the sidelines for the last two months while the rest of the guys have been playing hard for Gibbs. He should have just kept his mouth shut. Terrible move by Portis. I sincerely hope he's not a Redskin next year.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
Wow. I'm missing this. I've said it before and I've said it again: If I ran the Skins, it would be a provision in every contract that no player is allowed to appear on The John Thompson Show. The players are way way too comfortable in spilling their guts to "Coach." I love Clinton, and I don't like Lloyd at all. But this kind of dirty laundry should not be aired in public as long as Lloyd is still on the team.

authentic
I'm sorry, but I don't respect what Clinton just did. He really threw Gibbs under the bus. I'm sure he DID beg to keep those guys, but he simply shouldn't go public with it. Portis basically ripped everything this organization does from top to bottom-- he made Gibbs and Saunders sound like blubbering fools. You know what-- he may very well be RIGHT, but once you go public with that kind of stuff, it basically becomes unrepairable. What Portis has done is help create two sides: Are you with 1) Gibbs and Saunders 2) Portis and some of the players he talks about not having the guts to go public?? I mean what the hell man!?!? the first year here the team goes 6-10, the second year they catch lightning in the bottle at the end of the season and go 11-7, the third year they revamp the entire offence and go 5-11. in the process they let go Smoot, Pierce, and Clark. All so called core DAMN Redskins. We are constantly lied to as fans to believe that we have a superbowl team, where in reality we are lost from top to bottom. If we are frutrated as fans and we are just watching the games. How do you feel the players feel when they have put up with this crap every season? He is right, at this point we are a joke. I just wish that people would accept the truth for what it is and stop getting upset for someone telling it like it is.
HoustonSkin
Here is what Gibbs should do now: He should say that he heard Clinton's interview and that he is taking that as input into fixing this team and this organization. He needs to reiterate that he will be looking at everything. He should also state that although he would have liked it to be said to him directly, that he knows that Portis is just speaking from his heart. Finally, he should say that Clinton Portis is a Redskin, and will remain one. I normally am one to agree with keeping team business with the team, but if Gibbs is a true leader, he needs to look at this as step one of getting things on track.
