Brunell's shoulder? - something smells rotten in D.C.

What is this about Brunell possibly needing shoulder surgury? Did I hear this right?

And if that's the case, when exactly did he know this? I'd be really dissapointed to find out he had issues at the start of the season and chose not to disclose it for fear of losing the starting job.

Could this explain him throwing deep plenty last year, and hardly at all this year?

Where did you hear this? Link? :whoknows:

Well, I didn't read it, I thought I heard Gibbs mention something about him needing surgury on his shoulder or arm in the off-season. I will have to listen to the press conference again and I can't right now at work.

That's why I was asking if anyone else heard that.

Is it his throwing shoulder??

...that would explain his NOODLE arm

hmmm.good question...yup

Meantime, backup quarterback Mark Brunell experienced soreness in his throwing shoulder during practices late last season, Gibbs said.

Something really stinks about this.

I bet you that Archuleta hurt Brunell's shoulder and then told him not to tell anyone. Then leaked it to Tom Friend who wrote the article on lack of communication between coaches and players and training staff.

On second thought maybe Brunell hurt his shoulder after cashing his paycheck

On third thought maybe it was that stupid black(Anti-Byron Leftwich armpad?) thing he wears on his arm that hurt him.

On fourth thought I guess everyone was just worried about his long term future when they boo'ed him against the Giants.

On fifth thought I dont think he is in danger of hurting it anymore holding a clipboard.

On a serious note, this does stink. Either 1) Brunell lied to the coaching staff and wanted to protect his job or 2) This thing is the beginning of validating why he is about to get a paycut or a pink slip

I get tired of all of these Brunell 'mystery injuries' that keep cropping up AFTER the fact. If he is hurt and cant play, then PULL HIM THE HELL OUT. If he is lying about his health to stay in longer, then he has no business on this team.

How come these 'injuries' are never reported when he is actually playing (and struggling)??

He had no business playing in the playoffs when it was obvious his knee was messed up from the Griesen hit - but now it appears his shoulder was banged up too - great...

This is all made up by Gibbs... So that when Brunell gets his "shouder surgery" He will have a chance to battle for the starting QB position in training camp....

This is all made up so he gets ANOTHER chance to start..

that was my first thought as well, and I sincerely hope it is not true at all. I cannot stand the sight of seeing Brunell in training camp next season, I don't care what you all say about a veteran backup, a veteran backup will throw the ball more than negative 1 yards.

i seriously can't believe that people think brunell is going to start for us next season.
What the heck are we going to do in the offseason if we can't come up with wacky conspiracy theories? :paranoid: I like this one the best:

well, we all thought Brunell was done after 2004 and Ramsey will finally play full time, and that is what Gibbs said in the offseason. Gibbs also said "Brunell's story is not finished in Washington". Come 2005 against the Bears, one play that should have only sidelined Ramsey for a quarter, suddenly sidelined him for the season and in comes Mark. Granted Mark rode off some good performances early on to keep his popularity up with the coaches and fans.

Just saying, it has happened once, there is no reason with Gibbs why it could not happen again.
