Larry
Keep in mind... there are a LOT of players whose salaries escalate to unreasonable numbers next season.... guys like Jansen, Samuels, Springs, Portis, Moss, Thomas, Daniels, etc. And Brunell goes from 2.2 to 5.2. The Skins could create $20M in cap room if they wanted. Exactly. Expect many vets tp restructure. We're fine this year.
skeenzfan
The problem is that this is the oldest team in NFL. So if not for cap reasons we will need to replace a lot of players over the next couple of years as they get older and less productive. The problem will be replacing so many players so quickly. I hope we get a GM who can see the value of building through the draft.

Bryan81
Brian Mitchell is a very bitter & angry person, so I almost always question anything he says when it comes to the 'Skins. I would guess that in this situation he is wrong also.
Taylor 36
For all the ****ing people do about Snyder, they never stop to give him credit in handling the cap. We, the Redskins, have been projected to be in cap hell every year since 2000, yet it NEVER has happened. When it comes to money and money management, we have the ultimate genious for an owner. There is nothing to be worried about. Once again, Mitchell is just talking out of his ass. The only thing he knows about money and the NFL is that he would not have made any if he actually had to play offense or defense for a living. BraveWarrior
Bottom line is - there will be a team on the field next season. I'm sick of having to be more concerned with the team's finances than how they are playing. I was happier when i was a kid and didn't know anything about business and just enjoyed the game (of course, that was the 80s, when we were the 2nd best team of the decade). TheLongshot
One thing I'm wondering is if Arch will want to stay here after the treatment he has had. Suddenly coaches stop talking to him one day and he is benched without a specific reason and without being told what he needed to work on to get back in. They still haven't talked to him. I wouldn't be surprised if he returned part of the money just so he could get out of here. Also, why does GW hope he will be back when he doesn't even talk to the guy and had him benched? Makes no sense. Well, considering that Arch was upset about things he said being taken out of context, it is hard to know if any of that is actually true. Unless Arch is truely a malcontent, I expect that he will be back. It is cheaper to keep him than to get rid of him. The problem is that this is the oldest team in NFL. So if not for cap reasons we will need to replace a lot of players over the next couple of years as they get older and less productive. The problem will be replacing so many players so quickly. I hope we get a GM who can see the value of building through the draft. Actually, the oldest players on this team are backups and roleplayers and are guys I don't expect will be difficult to replace. I expect that Brunell, Fauria, Hall, Patten, and probably Wynn will be gone, with little effect on this team. Others, like Saleve'a or Thrash, can be gone as well, tho both are pretty cheap. Jansen could be gotten rid of, but I don't think that is likely. It is more of a concern that we lack in draft picks, but I don't think that will hurt us that much. mojobo
Also, why does GW hope he will be back when he doesn't even talk to the guy and had him benched? Makes no sense. the same reason he hoped lavar would be on the team again... to scare the signing bonus out of him.
pjfootballer
Since when is B-Mitch paid to take care of the salary cap? He's a jerk.
JoeGibbsThickandthin
B Mitch does not know much of anything. He does not even know how to be a host of a radio show. He gets the same callers to call in and when they make a point he just says. ALL RIGHT MAN. How do u take him seriously?
RedskinsNation
Salary Cap Hell???? I think the Redskins have actually mastered one thing...and thats the ability to make "Salary cap hell" a myth. Granted besides 2005 we havent taken advantage of our "cap management" in terms of restructuring/pro-rate/defer bonus money.
jivelikenice
That figure B Mitch put out there includes the high cap numbers for guys such as Brunell, Patten, etc....That number will come down.... I just hope instead of signing big name free agents, we go for value additions and build some depth...I'd much rather come out of free agency with Smoot and Fletcher then one high priced guy....
