Mass_SkinsFan
If my memory serves me right, in Asian cultures it is considered a great sign of Blessing for a Praying Mantis to show up in your home. Take that for what it's worth.

CandaceM23
MSF said its a sign of good luck ... maybe we'll win tomorrow! Hmmm ... Pregnant praying mantis. Are they sexual or asexual? How do they give birth. We have some research to do.
Tarhog
No species whose females bite their males heads off at the moment of orgasm can possibly be considered 'good luck' Of course, I can see how some of you might see it that way....
CandaceM23
Well ... just found out one thing ... Life Cycle and Habits One generation develops each season. In the autumn, females lay eggs in a large mass or cluster (an inch or so long), in a frothy, gummy substance glued to tree twigs, plant stems and other objects. Overwintering occurs in the egg stage in this case. Tiny nymphs emerge from the egg mass in the spring or early summer.

Male praying mantis' (manti?) are so into it that they generally lose their heads during copulation. mmmm tasty....mantis heads.

jrockster21
I heard this when I was younger, but is it illegal to kill a preying mantis? That is a false internets rumor. There are a few species on the endangered list, but most North American Mantises are not.
