ESPN - Reeling Redskins awash in troubles

Wow just wow. I loved Gregg Williams and thought maybe injuries and poor technique were the problem. But hearing this and reading how big his ****ing ego is just kills this team. Who is going to want to play hard for us anymore or come here when he think of people as replacable. I thought that on the inside at redskins park this team is imploding. Will Gibbs put a stop to it or will we continue to slide. I was all for keeping Williams as the D cordinator for next year and eventually a coach, but after this I just dont know anymore. The guy cant even suck it up and admit its not all the scheme that we also need core players to. This just ****ing sucks.

I got news for ya.

ExtremeSkins fans do NOT hire head coaches.

When you say "everyone" had him shoed in for the next head coach job of the Skins, I am very certain that you're just referring to ES fan comments on this board. If not, then PLEASE provide a link to a story where a CREDIBLE AND QUALIFIED person indicated that the REDSKINS (AND NOT THEIR FANS) were considering him for the next vacancy.

You can't ruin your chances of getting a job that you were never truly considered for.

it was a stipulation of his contract. i have no link, but that was very public information when he took the job.

That's a lot of perspective and unfortunately truth =(

So sad, so true.

It's time for a house cleaning, again.

The guestion is, is Gibbs up too it?

Funny... I thought I came to the same conclusion in my thread entitled " Mutiny on the D". Now I'm not one to say "I told you so", but the fans that thought GW was a genius on that thread should read this one.

This sums up what is wrong with this team. Expalins alot about what is wrong with ST's paly this year.

That is why GW is out of here. Good luck to him, he had the best job in the NFL, making more money than most HC's, and answering to no one. As far as pouty face, you need to get the hell out of pro sports. When players challenge you, you are done. Good bye!

Why did it take this long for Gibbs to realize this? I think he isn't invovled as much as he should be. Given his age, is he just a figure head? Allowing these guys to F**#K it up this bad, and he shows up Sunday to accept it as his fault?

Incredible revelations. For what it's worth, the unidentified player could very well be Springs because he's an articulate, intelligent veteran. Regardless, I am almost certain it's someone in the secondary because in one unintentionally revealing quote, he says "But ever since minicamp, OTAs, training camp, we hadn't met as a secondary". The use of the term "we" seems like a giveaway.

Pam Oliver, during the Dallas game 3 weeks ago, said from the sidelines that anonymously, different Redskin players told her the problem with the team was a lack of chemistry, both among coaches and players. At the time, it didn't get much attention because of the way the Skins miraculously won the game, but it does fall in line with some of what Friend wrote.

Given all of this, it's reasonable to assume that this coacing staff will not be intact next year. (In fact, I wonder if Gibbs' rumored big announcement was going to be a staff shakeup) If Gibbs returns, I would think at the very least, Jackson is gone, if not Williams as well.

Well, this explains a lot about what George Michael's was ranting about coaches making Gibbs look bad. This is big news and a very serious concern. I hope Joe made a case for himself at the team meeting because I don't think this is something that can be fixed with the current defensive coaching staff.

I don't know what else to say. It's really sad that Joe Gibbs let it go this far. He needs to take control of this team and get us and himself back to respectability.

EDIT : Disregard the following post. I have already been corrected on this.

You are wrong. Williams has a clause in his contract he signed last season that if he doesn't become the next head coach when JG is done, he gets a million dollar bonus.

Looks like another bad contract Snyder signed.

Bravo Tom Friend.

Stuff like this reminds how good the Washington Post Sports section once was when they had beat reporters like Friend.

What a revelation and shocking insight into this cluster @@@@ of a team.

Gibbs has got to regain control of his staff and his team now. Enough of the delegation crap. Reclaim your team Joe. Don't go out like this with a bunch of arrogant losers destroying you're reputation.

One place to start is on that defensive staff. LaVar warned us a while ago about the egos on that side of the ball and everyone wanted to rip him, well guess what, LaVar was right and we're now paying for it now.

Jeez what a mess.
