  1. 1. Which US City has the best food/restaurants?

    • New York City (the correct choice)
    • Chicago
    • Las Vegas (if you have a bland palate)
    • San Francisco
    • Other (e.g., Columbus, Ohio)

As for his record this year, losing Bettis, and for all intents, Roethlisburger, well that is a lot to overcome for ANY coach.

But I digress, the point about him being on the downside of his career is a good one... one I hadn't considered.

I know... let's hire Russ Grimm! :point2sky

I don't really think this is that far fetched. Cowher's contract is up at the end of the year. He takes 2007 off to re-energize. Gibbs will coach us next year in 2007 and then if he doesn't get the team to where he wants them to be, he may call it quits, go back to NASCAR and then Cowher takes over for 2008. Washington is the closest to his NC home (unless the Panthers fire John Fox or Atlanta fires Mora, Jr.). I like what Zooney said that Cowher has a good track record of getting home grown talent (via the draft) and not overpaying for talent.

I don't know. Cowher would have the kind of splash the DanMan likes. And what would it cost? A draft pick. We don't know what to do with those anyway, so why not? As far as the Steelers having a bad year. Well, they also seem to reload better than most teams after losing talent. I fully expect them to be in the mix next year. But I could also see Marty saying don't do it -- or, maybe, take the money and run. If that happens, what kind of Cowher are we going to get? Whatever the case, I don't believe Gibbs will be back next year.

Cool. That was my MAIN reason for not seeing him as a good fit here at this point.

Now you're talkin'. Link to the past and hungry young lion (hog?) all wrapped up in one. WHEN Gibbs finally steps down again, if Russ is available, that's an interview I'd like to think Dan Snyder would try to arrange.

if this were a magazine, it would be sold at the check out line at the Super Market and Rosie O'Donnell would be on the cover this week with the caption "pregnant with E.T.'s baby"

Thats funny. In the last two days, they're reported aaron rodgers being out for the year and the fine on nalen HOURS before anybody else. THIS IS A RUMOR. They break nfl news faster than espn

To hell with talking about Joe's replacement. If Snyder wants to continue to throw his money around he might as well throw $10 million at Scott Pioli in here. I know it's a pipe dream, but until this organization gets a true personnel guru we are going to continue to suck IMO.

BS for now. But down the line, I could see it happening. He's going to retire to North Carolina for a bit, but he'll want back in in a year or two.

Whoever the next coach is after Gibbs, has to demand that the front office changes radically. If they don't, it will be the same thing over and over.

I'm right with you there!

I would LOVE to have an up-and-coming coordinator finally take over. The fact that he's an ex-Hog would make it the PERFECT fit!!

Russ in 2k9!

I don't see Cowher leaving Pittsburgh after this year. He'll want to get out after a winning season, and if he's tight with Marty, why would he come here? I can see Cowher eventually ending up in Atlanta.

He's underpaid and the Steelers ain't gonna match his price.
