authentic
Based on the body language of this team (well really the defense) give you any indication that they actually care about these games. I'm sure they may want to win, come on who really wants to lose? But they just look like, hey i'm getting paid anyway, type mentality. We hear so much about "we had a good week of practice" and "we know what we have to do, we just have to go out and do it" JUNK!! Yet when the game starts, all a sudden, they can't tackle, they constantly get penalties, they give up on plays. I mean come on man!! Isn't this the same group of guys we had from last year. What in the hell is going on?!?! Its a shame when the fans care more about wins and losses then the actual players, and IMO this is definately the case. pgitta
Campbell, Cooley, Washington, Moss, Duckett, Thrash, Vincent, Portis, and RE care. The rest appear to be planning their spring vacations.
DieHard86
Kind of makes me think of the 1993 Redskins - they still had high expectations, but got old and injured and bad all at the same time. I think that is definitely the case when you look at our d-line. All the problems this team has can be traced back to our weak d-line.
AsburySkinsFan
Well, one thing is for certain, there is a definite lack of vigor on the Defensive side of the ball. We know that they have skill (based on last year's performance) so for me it must be a "head" thing. They sure don't have the same attitude that they did last year, which is to me probably the most disappointing thing about this team. I mean when we finished the season last year we were all thinking that the focus should be on the offense, who knew that the D would under-go a regressive metamorphasis! Mr. S
I think the D is trying to run GW out of town. I doubt that's the case, they've loved his consistency the past two years, not having to learn new schemes for once. They definitely loved playing for him last year, even Lavar did. Gregg Williams isn't necessarily trying to tank it either, he knows no team will hire him now as a head coach based on the pitiful performance our defense has had all year. I really hope people who have inside access can tell us if that is what is happening, that they are not caring as much. Springs, Vincent, Marcus, and Taylor are probably the only ones who may be playing with fire.
hail2thegibb
They don't play like it!!! With the exception of Cooley, he seems to play hard every down.

diesel22
I'll tell you someone who cares (and would be playing his ass off even if we were 0-10)....... Give me 11 of him on Defense and we are the class of the league (regardless of who is @ QB)

You forgot about Sellers. He cares. But you're right that this team has absolutely no fire at all. Did you see Bradkoski? He was fired up. But the Skins? Nahhh... ashsra
I think the main problem on defense is a serious lack of leadership. Our big problem is a combination of bad free agent signings and a 'this is the year' attitude. This team needs a real GM who is interested in building a team rather than trying to gather a bunch of free agents with no drive. We should start in the draft next year by drafting a young stud, DT or DE to build our defense around. San Diego build a young hungry defense and now their defense is much better than it used to be. Griffin and Salave are getting old and Carter is a bust. And while we're at it, let's stop talking about our offense line being one of the best in the league, because it just simply isn't. Week after week they get no drive off the line of scrimmage, I think Randy Thomas is pretty good, but the rest of them are overrated.
ttr77
I don't see any fire in their eyes. Just the usual sloppy play, and a bunch of the same quotes after the game. I don't see a lot of caring on their part...I hope they continue to not care when the fans stop showing up at the stadium.
Boss_Hogg
I think they care, (Rogers may be the only questionable one) but our team just flat-out sucks so it looks like they don't care.

SKINZ33
This team for the most part cares. Part of me thinks that those who arent putting forth a full effort are getting tired of Gibbs' "ra ra we are one" approach.
BleedBNG
This one sorta reminded me of the Vikes game. Defense giving them long sustaining drives. Our running game calling it in (64yds... Vikes game 86yds). I thought our D would spark it up a little and have an Auburn players faceoff with Cadillac. Well, Jason tried, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO.... "All lanes are now open for you Mr. Williams." BleedBNG
I have said before what it appears to be is that we have a lot of players just collecting a paycheck. And alot of them are going to be collecting one for next year too. GW has got to do something to get it thru these guys that this game is tackling... NOT flag football. Last year they were doing it better than I have seen our D do since '92. Now it looks like we're back to the Norval years. I have no idea. stwasm
I think seeing Marcus Washington dance after the making a tackle after a five-yard gain says it all.
I Hate Dallas
I more than agree on the talent thing on defense. Name 1 good pass rusher on the D line. No wait, Name 1 so-so pass rusher on the D line. Look, no pass rush means picking apart the secondary. Williams almost has to take chances with blitzing backs to help, but seems to have the reverse effect this season. If you are one of the ones that think we have a tallented D, than look at the poor tackling as well. I think Washington and Taylor are burned out picking up slack. They have been excpected to cover, blitz, and tackle alot mre than usual. Now the offense will work itself out now that they will have this complicated system under their belts next season. Plenty of talent on that side of the ball. :2cents: :dallasuck

They always seem to find gem after gem after gem, in the draft. They rarely go into free agency, especially on defense. -Ray Lewis -Ed Reed -Chris Mcallister -Tarrell Suggs -Dwan Edwards -Kelly Gregg -Dan Cody -Bart Scott -Adalius Thomas .....all home-grown talent!! I think a lot of is just mental guys playing out of position, overplaying plays. This team is not disclipined at all I always thought a Gregg Williams defense was disclipined.
