Okay ... I wouldn't really recommend it unless you had to do it.

I've had to flush my system twice for medical procedures - and it's literally the worst experience of my life.

I had to drink some Fleet stuff the first time - then the second time I had a prescription from my doc --- neither was enjoyable.

And frankly, it's disgusting to think/see what has been holed up in your body.

I don't know... sounds like something to try out when you're bored on a weekend and have nothing better to do.

...syke...

I was thinking this exact same thing.

Candace, if there is some nasty stuff up there, why isn't it a good thing to have done periodically? Just curious.

Okay ... I will be brutally honest - and I will give you a fair warning that it will be gross ... so if you get grossed out .

I had to drink some nasty liquid - that was extremely difficult to get down (and keep down for that matter). You have to drink a gallon of the liquid in an hour. The liquid has so much sodium in it that you can literally feel your stomach and bowels bubbling up.

Within about 45 minutes of drinking what I could, I began to feel my stomach rumble unlike anything I'd felt before. Imagine how you feel when you know that you ate something terribly wrong and your stomach starts to cramp hardcore. Magnify that feeling times 100.

I sat on the toilet for about two hours. First solid and then straight liquid. It's horrible - not enjoyable - and not humane. Your tail will hurt from execreting straight fluid. And the worst part is when you think that you're finally finished - you're really not. You are only getting started with round two.

I have complained to my doctors that there must be a more humane way to clean out the system. It's pure torture.

I guess that if you want to clean your system out and make sure that there isn't anything hiding in the corners of your colon then it's a good idea. But ... if you'd rather not know what's in there and dont have a problem with it residing there, then I would recommend passing on the Colon Cleanse.

There is this stuff I put on my yogert every morning called Flax seeds that I grind up. It is supposed to be great for the health of the colon and not nearly as painful. You can get them in your local health food store for $2 a lb.

No ... I really didn't feel better after everything was over. All I could think about was sitting in the bathroom for two hours crying cause I couldn't stop going and my ass hurt.

Now I know how Liberace felt...

only kidding... not that there's anything wrong with that...

Candace - you're talking about the most inappropriately named product in medical history:

Golytely.

I always they should have named it Gountilyouexpelyourintestines :)

And for the chaser, they like to give you something called Mag citrate.

Gotta love it.

Never drank it. Hope never to have to. Although I've dealt with the horrifying results of patients drinking it many times.
