In today's Divisional Debacle, the Defense under Greg Manusky in the first half, gave up 207 yards of offense (105 rushing/102 passing) and two touchdowns.  That said, they did manage a single INT on which the Offense actually managed to score a touchdown off of. They allowed 12 of 16 passes to be completed .

In the second half it was 107 yards given up (58 rushing//49 passing) a field goal and a touchdown. They traded their first half pick for a second half sack. However, Dallas completed all five of their pass attempts.

Don't read that thinking "Well it seems like they tightened up some in the 2nd half."  They didn't. They simply had about half the plays in the second half. 30 plays in the First and 18 in the Second.

So far in two Divisional matchups, the Defense has faltered in the Second half. They start out like a house of fire for the first few drives until their opponents gradually make adjustments. This Defensive coaching staff fails make any adjustments, whether in game or at the very least at Halftime. They've given up over 30 points per game for a total of 63 points given up in two games. While the Bears are up next, the Pats await and they've put up over 70 points in two games. Yeah. Ok. They did shut out the Dolphins today which is looking like the NFL version of ... ahem... shooting fish in a barrel.

The frustrating thing is Manusky is the DC that the Front Office actively looked to replace during the off season without firing him. When you know they're looking to replace you, most people would make a concentrated effort to show an improvement. Yet Manusky's Defense still keeps acting like it's starring in Groundhog Day.

In his post game presser, when asked directly about if any coaching changes would be made, Gruden said "No, I think after two games – you’re talking about playing two very good offensive football teams and two of the best offensive lines in pro football we just played back-to-back. That’s no excuse whatsoever, but I don’t think we need to hit the panic button yet. We just have to continue to focus on what we can do better to win. Get Jonathan [Allen] in here, get a couple of our corners back in here and let’s go back and strap it up against Chicago [Bears] next week and see what happens.”

Here's another frustrating thing. The defensive communication was an issue last season as well. Wasn't this supposed to have been worked on during OTA's and Training Camp? It's understandable that the rookies would still be on a learning curve, but NFL vets like Collins and DRC you'd think they would have down by the start of the season.

Gruden said they're a very talented group on Defense but that they weren't reaching them. When questioned as to why the coaching staff that has been in place for several years, wasn't reaching them, he defended the comment as them being a young defense. “We have some moving parts now. Landon Collins is a veteran guy but this is his first year, [Montez] Sweat’s in his first year, [Cole] Holcomb, it’s his first year, [Jon] Bostic is in his first year. We’re playing Dominique [Rodgers-Cromartie] at corner and this is Jimmy Moreland’s first year, so it’s not like we are the most experienced group. We feel like were very talented, but we`re still fighting through somethings. There are a lot of things to look forward to, without a doubt, but we do have to play better and strap it up and get back to work."

Yeah I would love to see burgundy on burgundy.

It's also about time to ditch the white home uni's that Gibbs made us wear. I was actually excited to us when we wore the burgundy.

im thinking maroon on maroon with some yellow and black trim

Seriously though, I'm fine with the uniforms the way they are. If you don't like the white jerseys, buy a burgundy one. ;)

Sometimes It Funny To See People Who Think The Have A New Idea......

I Still Find It Amusing That People Take The Extra Time To Capitalize The First Letter In Every Word In A Post When In English Class They Teach You To Not Do That, Plus It Is Taking Me Three Times Longer To Type This Response Because I Am Capitalizing The First Letter Of Each Post.

I'd actually like to see another uniform design. I actually remember on Channel nine in D.C. where here was an artist had drawn some nice suggestions. Doesn't look like that would happen though, so Burgundy on Burgundy would at least be a switch up. I'm actually surprised Snyder hasn't tried a new uniform design change. The way he likes to make money and all.

I really wouldn't mind us adding more black into our uniforms, I think they look beast. Anyone know a snooty word for Black? We couldn't call it black just lilke we don't call it maroon & yellow

First off, anyone suggesting we go to more black is crazy. That's like the "new" thing for teams in all sports to do. They think it's intimidating like the old Raiders. Hasn't done the Raiders any good in quite a while.

Also, I hate to watch teams with Black on Black or Green on Green jerseys and pants. I think it looks putrid. And the worst? Those damn black pants with no stripes on the side. The one's worn by the Saints, Jags and Falcons. They look like they're wearing girls leotards. They look Ghey and stupid.

Keep the white jerseys with the burgundy pants. Burgundy on burgundy would look like a high school team. I don't like any of these uniforms that go same color jerseys and pants.

As far as "why" Gibbs always went with white jerseys....it was because of the bad shadows at RFK.....receivers would get lost in the shadows. Gibbs realized this and made the switch to white jerseys.....its simply easier for qbs to see the

receivers downfield when they have white jerseys. We have worn white under Gibbs and Turner....Before Gibbs we always wore burgundy jerseys.

Plus, the white jerseys will always be tied to our 3 super bowls......

I like the retro uniforms during the Charlie Taylor era. The helmets were kool and with the proper updates the uniforms would be awesome.

I like them too, but given that they were last used when Spurrier was here. I would not expect a return to them for a good long while. There are still too many bad memories of those years to make it a reasonable change.

I honestly wouldn't mind a switch back to the old yellow pants and gray facemasks. It'd probably need a little updating but those circa 1972 unis were nice, IMO.

As for the spear, no. I don't see it coming back. Like Veretax said, the spear means Spurrier, so it's kind of a no-go.

I know this has been talked about a number of times on this forum, but I would like to see a tweak to the unis. Maybe the current helmet decal :logo: with the same color of helmet used with the spear. Along with using the 70th Anniv. color of jersey with the current design. And dark jerseys at home just to distance the team from Joe Gibbs. And I say that as a compliment to Joe. He will always be the best coach the franchise has ever had and I think it is time to start some new traditions. IMO
