The Bill Callahan era began here at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. For the first quarter it was really, really bad football being played by both teams.
The Redskins were determined to establish the Run game. The First Quarter all they established was that they still couldn’t run. Or pass. Or do much of anything.

It wasn’t until the 2nd Quarter that Peterson was able to start ripping the worst Run D in the League for chunks of 18 & 24 yards. The Skins managed to score a TD with a 25 yard pass to Scary Terry McLaurin.

The Dolphins would open the Second Half only managing five plays before the Redskins would get the ball punted back to them. They would run a balanced run/pass attack of six plays for 70 yards in 1:25 ending in McLaurin’s second touchdown of the day. The Defense would then get a turnover allowing the Offense to get to Field Goal range and add another 3 points to make the score 17-3.

To open the Fourth Quarter, Hopkins would miss a 55 yard Field Goal, leaving the score at 17-3.  After being sacked five times, the Dolphins would pull their own switcharoo at QB and go to Ryan “Neckbeard” Fitzpatrick which resulted in a touchdown drive for them, making it 17-10. They went for & recovered the Onside Kick. They also managed to not score any points after that. The Dolphins would find theirselves with ball at the 2:00 Warning. Fitzpatrick would take them on a 9 play 75 yard touchdown drive with six seconds remaining on the clock. Miami went for the win with the 2 Point Conversion and failed. The Redskins would recover the onside kick by Miami and Keenum took a knee to get the Redskins their first win of the season.

Black should not be on any part of the Redskins uniform. Black jerseys are just another way to sell more merchandise.

How long till this thread gets merged?

Didn't someone mention an all-burgundy uni a la (cough) Ravens (cough)? Seriously, I think burgundy top and pants would be worth seeing at least once.

Failing that - a maroon, yellow and black ensemble might be quite fetching too!

VT did an all maroon (with some black and orange) thing for our game against Boston College last year. That always looks badass. :whoknows:

I think the black with BURGANDY might look cool, but if Zorn wants maroon, I have no problem with that whatsoever :D

Let's go back to these.

I dig the USC look.

This looks like the uni we wore at home against the NYG in Sept. but we wore the white jersey instead. However, the pants were a brighter yellow than they were in the early 70s like in this pic.

In all seriousness, white jerseys at home is a Redskins tradition. I will be FURIOUS if Daniel M. Snyder changes it again.

Then what about the gold/yellow pants with burgundy jersey's at home? That's tradition too, no? I mean think of all the great Skins from the 60's and 70's. George Allen, Sonny, Lombardi, Charlie Taylor, Sam Huff - pretty good tradion there, and they didn't wear white at home.

Maybe Zorn got the idea that the Redskins' colors were Maroon and Black because he visited ES, and saw the color scheme for this website. :silly:

Actually Burgundy jerseys (w-gold letters & trim) with black pants and burgundy socks and black cleats would look great. I like the current burgundy jerseys, but don't like the white pants.

I'm not sure how I feel about not wearing white at home. On the one hand, I agree it's a Joe Gibbs thing, but on the other hand, we just don't look right in the burgandy tops with white bottoms. If we don't wear white at home, I'd be in favor of the '60s/70's color scheme for our "dark" uniform.

I really like our "light" uniform. The only change I'd agree to make would be to introduce Sean Taylor Stripes. I can't get enough of those!

Gibbs has always liked the white tops, which is why the home unis have been that way for the last 4 years. So will our home uniforms be burgandy now that he's gone?
