In today's Divisional Debacle, the Defense under Greg Manusky in the first half, gave up 207 yards of offense (105 rushing/102 passing) and two touchdowns.  That said, they did manage a single INT on which the Offense actually managed to score a touchdown off of. They allowed 12 of 16 passes to be completed .

In the second half it was 107 yards given up (58 rushing//49 passing) a field goal and a touchdown. They traded their first half pick for a second half sack. However, Dallas completed all five of their pass attempts.

Don't read that thinking "Well it seems like they tightened up some in the 2nd half."  They didn't. They simply had about half the plays in the second half. 30 plays in the First and 18 in the Second.

So far in two Divisional matchups, the Defense has faltered in the Second half. They start out like a house of fire for the first few drives until their opponents gradually make adjustments. This Defensive coaching staff fails make any adjustments, whether in game or at the very least at Halftime. They've given up over 30 points per game for a total of 63 points given up in two games. While the Bears are up next, the Pats await and they've put up over 70 points in two games. Yeah. Ok. They did shut out the Dolphins today which is looking like the NFL version of ... ahem... shooting fish in a barrel.

The frustrating thing is Manusky is the DC that the Front Office actively looked to replace during the off season without firing him. When you know they're looking to replace you, most people would make a concentrated effort to show an improvement. Yet Manusky's Defense still keeps acting like it's starring in Groundhog Day.

In his post game presser, when asked directly about if any coaching changes would be made, Gruden said "No, I think after two games – you’re talking about playing two very good offensive football teams and two of the best offensive lines in pro football we just played back-to-back. That’s no excuse whatsoever, but I don’t think we need to hit the panic button yet. We just have to continue to focus on what we can do better to win. Get Jonathan [Allen] in here, get a couple of our corners back in here and let’s go back and strap it up against Chicago [Bears] next week and see what happens.”

Here's another frustrating thing. The defensive communication was an issue last season as well. Wasn't this supposed to have been worked on during OTA's and Training Camp? It's understandable that the rookies would still be on a learning curve, but NFL vets like Collins and DRC you'd think they would have down by the start of the season.

Gruden said they're a very talented group on Defense but that they weren't reaching them. When questioned as to why the coaching staff that has been in place for several years, wasn't reaching them, he defended the comment as them being a young defense. “We have some moving parts now. Landon Collins is a veteran guy but this is his first year, [Montez] Sweat’s in his first year, [Cole] Holcomb, it’s his first year, [Jon] Bostic is in his first year. We’re playing Dominique [Rodgers-Cromartie] at corner and this is Jimmy Moreland’s first year, so it’s not like we are the most experienced group. We feel like were very talented, but we`re still fighting through somethings. There are a lot of things to look forward to, without a doubt, but we do have to play better and strap it up and get back to work."

Folks, NONE of this is ever going to happen as long as Grandpa Gibbs is still in town. It's a well-known fact that he HATES all of the throwback unis and HATES the burgundy jersey, which is why they started wearing white at home in 1981.

Personally, the Skins need to change this uni that they've had since 1979 with no changes whatsoever. The updated spear helmet throwback is a great idea...but only if they wear the BURGUNDY jerseys at home.

All-burgundy looks like this:

I would love to see a predominately black jersey with burgundy/red numbers and gold accents. Would've been awesome if the skins came out in black this past sunday.

Yeah that would be pretty tight. Something similar to the shadow jerseys.:logo:

In the past we wore and all white uniform that set us on a long winning streak that helped us into the playoffs. I believe that we need a spark right now. What does everyone think if the Redskins wore their Burgundy jersies and pants for their home games to 1) Honor Sean Taylor, and 2) Spark them into the playoffs? I think htey would look awesome!:point2sky

I agree. I think an all burgundy uni would be sweet. This might sound crazy but I even think an all yellow uni (similar to Oregon) would look pretty cool. We could of course keep the classic style but use the color of the face bar as the jersey.......

I don't think the color of the uniform helps in any way to win ballgames. But if the players feel like a change would do something for them, then do it. The color of the uniform a player wears won't help in making a tackle, catching a pass, rushing for yardage, etc. Now if motivation is necessary to get a team to start playing up to their potential, then let them know how they play in games will determine their job status. Unfortunately, with the money players are being paid now some, for sure, aren't worried about their job status. And excuses seem to be working just fine for them.

To go along with an all Burgundy uniform, we could change the logo to a monkey ****in' a pile of puke, so they'd match. :2cents:

Its time for a change you can't move forward untill you let go of the past. Stop wishing for the Hogs and old school football. I don't care what we won superbowls wearing its time to move forward. I'm up for a brand new uniform and tweaked logo.

I know that we wore the 75th anniversary uniform during the Giants game during at the beginning of the season, however, for all the hype of the 75th anniversary and marketing of it by the team it looks that we are going to wear the uniform for the dallas game and that is going to be it. I thought that the NFL allowed for teams to wear the jerseys 3-4 times. I guess they are only allowed to wear it twice? Could anyone give me any clarification on this. Also what did you all think about the hype of these uniforms? Did you all think it was worth the time and effort that was put in by the team to try and sell the jerseys? My opinion was that for all the talk of the 75th anniversary, they sure didn't use it to like they could have. I don't know if this is accurate or not but it seems to me that the team wore the 70th anniversary jerseys more than they did the 75th. Any ways, enough with my thoughts. What are your thoughts on this?

We are on a 5 year stint with the anniversary uniforms. First the 70th anniversary version, now the 75th! Can't wait for the 80th anniversary unis to surface five years from now.

The 80th anniversary team will probably commemorate the 20th anniversary (2012) of the last time we won a Superbowl.....

Why is everyone so concerned about the Redskins' uniforms? This team has tons more problems than its wardrobe. Who cares?

The 75th anniversary ones look great. I've made it a point that during every game I will now be wearing my ST jersey - that was previously held by JC's.

I guess it means we would look stylish when/if* we blow it in the 2nd half.. plus we'd have another thing to blame, the unis are jinxed! :D

The promo for the game has the old school helmet against the Bears' helmet, so I assume we're wearing them tonight.
