Yes, WE HAVE ENOUGH RUNNING BACKS JOE!!!!!!! Lets get a kicker that kicks strait...

We do Have a Kicker That Kicks Strait He Kicks the Ball Strait down the Right Side Put the ball on the left hash and novak has a shot. But a kicker that splits the uprights would be a great deal of help

From the WP,"Portis Expected to Go on Injured Reserve":

Less than 24 hours after undergoing surgery on his broken right hand, Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis was expected to be placed on the injured reserve list, which would prematurely end a season turbulent both for his injuries and his lack of comfort with the new offensive system installed by Al Saunders, associate head coach -- offense.

Report: Portis could be headed to injured reserve

November 14, 2006

Triple X ESPN Radio's Bram Weinstein reports that an announcement could be made soon regarding Clinton Portis' status for the remainder of the season.

According to his sources, Portis, who broke his hand Sunday in Washington's 27-3 loss at Philadelphia, would be placed on injured reserve to create roster space if the Redskins, who are working out linebackers and defensive backs, decide to add a new player to their defense.

I'm not in a position to say what is going to happen with CP, though it would not surprise me if he is put on IR.

BUT, it is interesting to look at how this is developing. If you listen to Bram's comments on triplexxx, he was just giving his opinion. The relevant portion being the following:

"I think we’ve seen the last of Clinton Portis this season, that’s my belief. I have a funny feeling that in the very near future we’re not going to see Portis playing any more this season. He still has situation with his shoulder and he’s going to have to have something done. I think we need to recognize that Clinton Portis is done for the season." (audio available at redskins.com audio archives, go to about the 30 minute mark)

And, then, we have the Post story. Take a look at it, the link is posted earlier. There is not a SINGLE source in the story for the writer's belief, just his personal observation. Wonder why it isn't labled "column."

That, fellow ESers, is how rumors begin (even rumors that may become fact)
