Czaban on the Comcast Brunell incident

Steve Czaban = Richard Whiskey

A scorned nobody, whose anger at the organization for passing over him for Bram, is THE driving force behind his never ending attacks on everything Redskin.

The sooner Dan can get a stronger signal for the radio show, the sooner 980 will lose the rest of their listening audience.

Even Doc Walker leans toward the dark side now.

Is this website for real? Is he really this arrogant?! What a douche bag! Please tell me he didn't say, "The Black Big Ben." I am so sick of reporters having to distiguish race when comparing players!! Why can't he just say, the next Big Ben? And now everyone of course compares him to Doug Williams. Why can't he be compared to any QB? The color of his skin does not matter - it is insulting to a person to only compare them to those of their own race.

Agree 100%. We could call him the next Terry Bradshaw except Jason is more articulate.

I just think its at the point that somebody had to answer some real questions. Gibbs doesn't say ****. Snyder is hiding in the closet, etc.

We started this season expecting the SB and we are 3-6. Not a "we got jacked by the refs and all the games were close" 3-6 either. We got straight punked week in and week out. I think some of us on here could have come up with better gameplans against those weak ass defenses that we have faced.

And we have been told nothing other than we'll work on it just to see another 3 point effort. I guess the highest paid coaching staff in NFL history sucks and Brunell would be an ALL PRO on another team, lol.

What on Earth are you talking about? People ask Coach Gibbs these questions every week and he answers them. Don't take it personally because he doesn't give the answer you feel like hearing, but he's asked. Would you rather have Dan Snyder going around talking stuff 180 degrees the opposite of his Coach like Jerry Jones does?

Jeez... people complain that Snyder's hands are too much into things and now you're complaining that he backs off too much and lets the Coaches handle it.

Slingczabe doesn't ask real questions. He's trying to get at Brunell's goat and Brunell didn't bite. Regardless his performance on the field, he's a decent guy. Slingczabe is scorned he got passed over by a guy with a voice made for the newspaper and still isn't over it.

Why is it that most fans seem to want the team to air their dirty laundry in public? Yeah, the best way to get a player to improve is to embarrass him in public.

Fact is, what are you going to say? Bascially what Gibbs has been saying, that we have sucked in these areas and that we need to get better at these things. As to how? That's an internal issue. If I were a coach, the last thing I want to do is to spell out for other teams what we are having problems with.

As for Czaban, his question was idiotic, not just because it was embarrising, but it wasn't a question that was going to get any real information. What player is going to do that? The only time that happens is when a player retires.

What is even more embarrising is that some people here cheered him on. I thought Redskins fans had more class.

Oooh must put the kid gloves on to speak with the Redskins...c'mon...we are 3-6 and one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this year. I applaud Czaban for asking the tough questions. I dont think he had ANYTHING to do with Campbell being the started but I think he is spot on with his assessment about how the Redskins FO handles the media.

His point was proven by the fact that the interview was edited by big brother on the replay. Total BS. The Skins are BAD. But no one is allowed to write, say, or think it?

Actually Czaben lurks here from time to time, so I wouldn't call it "behind his back". Besides, where do you think he got that YouTube link from? :)

Well it's not too hard to go to You Tube and type in Czaban Brunell and see what comes up. Jus' sayin'. :)

But I'm sure he had one of his PA's on the ES to find it thou.

Czabe is a jackass, so is Brian Mitchell.

They do nothing ever but berate this team while waving a B&G flag......they did it in 2005 when we were winning as well.

Watching Redskins Postgame on Comcast is only for those who like to hear bad things about the Washington Redskins. No matter how well the Skins play, they will find something bad to say about the Skins, the players, the coaches and the franchise. They don't even break down the missteps, they just complain about the team. Actually they sound like posters here on ES.

My advice, you want a good breakdown of what the Skins did right and wrong after a game without the opinionated BS that the Postgame goofs bring watch Sports extra on Fox 5 with Trevor Mattich.

The question by Czaban was to draw attention to himself. It looks like it worked.

Exactly, its working out exactly how he thought it would. Call him what you want, but he isn't dumb. To me, he is entertaining, might have been a rude question. Mark might have had his feelings hurt, boo hoo.

It was a stupid question with the intention of ruffling Brunell's feathers. I find it hard to respect a guy like that.

I agree. The point of the question was malice, not information gathering. Czaban was, like most of us, sick of seeing crappy QB play and decided to take it out on the QB, as if Brunell is sucking on purpose just to tick us off.

It doesn't impress me that Czaban decided to act like a cranky fan instead of a professional, sorry.

He says he threw the beanball to find out if Brunell was about the organization or about himself.

Then he has the blind arrogance to suggest that his interview may have swayed the locker room or Gibbs to make the change.

He should know all about being all about one's self.

What a toolbox!

"He acted like a big man behind a desk in a studio."

gee...you mean like 99.9% of the posters at ES! see LA threads over the last year for reference.

The fact that he sounded like message board posters with nothing of substance to say seems pretty accurate to me.

He's your average blowhard, full of self importance with nothing of substance behind it. Unfortunately this is actually his job. He's not in his basement spouting off for his buddies.

He does this full time and yet he's less knowlegeable and professional than most of the loud mouth blow hards I know, and they focus on something else 40 -60 hours a week as their full time job.

did anyone listen to his show this morning, he was saying that now they were trying to market Campbell for next year, this is how the organization works. So at the same time he was critical of them for benching Campbell. The question was malicious and had its shock value, i just don't understand why people care so much. He's just some bald guy trying to draw attention for himself , and maybe a few laughs.

1) I now feel unclean for having visited Czaban's website.

2) He didn't ask Brunell a "tough" question. It was a cheapshot. He spit in the face of a guy who probably had an inkling that he had just started the last game of his NFL career. It wasn't even a valid question, because he was essentially asking Brunell to make a coaching decision that he has no business even making.

I agree strongly with both points

I definately don't like this guy at all, he seems too stuck up. What's this about him wanting to take credit for putting in Campbell?? Whaaaat?? :wtf:

Is it just me or is there nowhere on that d-bag's website to email the guy? Talk about avoiding "tough" questions.

Just an FYI - The "Czabe" is an industry joke. Washington is literally the only city where he could find work. Major sports talk hosts in other cities either laugh at him or have no idea who he is.

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. With all the hype, I was expecting some sort of tirade or real anger...Brunell simply looked mildly irritated...like I would expect any athlete would if asked that question. I'm glad Campbell has replaced him but to try to cast Brunell as some classless bumb is just ridiculous. No competitor wants to concede his job.

:applause: :applause: Brilliant. Unfortunately, you are right. You can't be just a writer or a singer. You are a black or Asian first, singer, actor, golfer, quarterback second. Just look at what McNabb had to face last season? :wtf: But let's not turn this into a race thread. :(

I for one was not the least bit disgusted about his questions. Seemed appropriate to me because I was thinking the exact same thing. Brunell had to know this switch and questions like those were coming.

We should be thanking Czaban for getting Brunell to finally talk to Gibbs and convince Gibbs he isn't the guy anymore.

I don't think Brunell would have been benched or have asked Gibbs to be benched if this question hadn't taken place.

I wish he would have asked these questions after Brunell's horrific performances in the final game against Philly, and against Tampa in the playoffs before the Seattle game last year. It was clear at that point Brunell was keeping us from getting to the Super Bowl and all other phases in our game were working.
