EersSkins05
When I saw the topic I was thinking, "Damn, he was pretty young." Yup- 40 years old. That's too bad- he was talented as hell. Check out the documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" to see him performing with the musicians of Motown. He tore up some "I'll Be There" and "Shotgun." Donita35
My friend told me this and I was like "stop lying". Then I searched and I could not find anything. But it is true. They are broadcasting this news all over the radio. RIP Gerald "Teddy Bear" Levert. This is most unfortunate.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
I have no idea who this guy is. Thanks for saying this. I wanted to but I didn't want to be seen as insensitive or something.
Thanos
I have no idea who this guy is. He is the son of Eddie Levert of the O'Jay's.A pioneering singing group out of the Gamble & Huff era of songwriters. Gerald was a long standing r&b singer who did not cross over into the mainstream. Donita35
I have no idea who this guy is. His father is Eddie Levert from the O'Jays. He is a R&B/Soul Singer. Just a word of advice, you should try to be a little more sensitive. I can understand you don't know who he is but, why comment at all if you have nothing to say? TC4
Damn that totally sucks They always seem to come in threes First Ed Bradley, then Jack Palance, and now Gerald Levert, and all within 24 hours
stwasm
I have no idea who this guy is. Additionally, he and his brothers came out with the song "Casanova" in, if I'm not mistaken, 1987. It was a top-five pop hit. On a personal note, to hear he had a heart attack at 40 is why I've been trying to lose weight. Unfortunately, he was overweight and I think it finally cost him his life. R.I.P.
iheartskins
why comment at all if you have nothing to say? Maybe because he's curious who the guy is? I know I was. Thanks for the description Thanos.

I'm afraid you're right about this. By the way, I just loooooooovved me some Gerald Levert. He was talented, of course ('My Forever Love' is one of my favorite songs) but I had the biggest crush on him, too. By the way all, the O'Jays are to be referred to as the "Mighty, Mighty O'Jays". blk_rshn
when I first heard the news I caught "Levert" and thought it was his father Eddie... knowing that Gerald passed away really struck home. It brings the thought of my own mortality closer to view.... I loved his music and really respected the man... God bless and rest in peace. BigRay
I could not believe what I was hearing still in a state of shock.. He was an unbelievable talent put on one of the best live shows you ever wanted to see. Gerald gave his all use to see him everytime he came to town. Own every single one of his CDs including the ones with his group Levert he will be sorely missed. R.I.P Gerald
Ghost of
RIP Eddie. "Baby, I'm ready to give you all of my love. Baby, not just a little bit. I wanna give you all of it! All my kisses belong (belong to) to you. Take my pride (or heart) in your hand and do whatever you want to do wit it baby. My love (my love) my looooooooooove goes deeper than the eye can see. I've made mistakes before, so won't you please forgive me??!" And I did that from memory Don't forget his part from "U Will Know," the great inspirational track from a choir of famous RnB singers from the Jason's Lyric soundtrack. Don't forget his duet with his father, "Baby Hold Onto Me." That was pretty good too. Also had the LSG collabo with Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill.
