Sorry, a blocked kick is NEVER a miracle. The proximate cause of such an event was the team that blocked the kick and the proximate cause is what determines if the event is a 'miracle' or not.

Quit trying to be a lawyer. Your logic is horrible. Winning the lottery is a miracle. Yea maybe the proximate cuase of winning the lottery is buying the ticket, that doesn't change the fact that it's a ****ing miracle when you win the lottery. Beating cancer with a 1% survival rate is a ****ing miracle, even if the proximate cause is getting treatement for it. Blocking a kick is highly unlikely, coupled with the result of the return and a 50 yard field goal from a poor kicker. Yes, the proximate cause is that actions were taken that resulted in this. That doesn't mean it's not a miracle. According to your reasoning, miracles do not exist, becuase there is a proximate cause to everything that happens.

I cannot deny that it was somewhat a "miracle" that we did win the game. It took stupid decision making, and blown plays by the Dallas offense which gave us a chance to win the game.

The most obvious was the decision to go for a two point conversion in the fisrt quarter which came back to haunt Dallas horribly. I bet Parcells is kicking himself in the ass all week over that one, stupid, greedy decision which cost him the game.

WTF are you talking about?!?

Miracles do not exist (IMO), but that's a different issue. A miracle is something happening that by definition CANNOT happen. Surviving cancer is no more a miracle than being hit by lightning. Beating difficult odds is not a miracle, it just seems so because it is so improbable.

A miracle would have been the kick hitting Vincent in the chest, and then continuing on in a straight path through the uprights, THAT would have been miraculous. Beating coverage on a FG and getting to the kicker happens multiple times every season. It is just as likely as say, running a punt return all the way for a TD, neither of which are miracles.

The Novak kick was on a preset path determined by physics once it left his foot, taking into consideration ball velocity, rotation, aerodynamic interference from the atmosphere surrounding it, etc. The wishes and hopes of the attendants had nothing to do with it. Zeus had nothing to do with it. The fact that it looked off, then curved inward, no matter what it looked like, was the path the ball was going to take. If it had curved that way but was in line with the left upright, and looked good before curving out at the last second for a miss, would you say "wow, it miraculously got blown off course!" No. You would say, "Damn....he hooked it"

It is humorous that you argue for miracles rather than logical explanations, and then call someone elses logic "horrible". It seems you are using none at all.

According to your definition, TO dropping the pass would also be a miracle. So why don't we just call it a miraculous loss for the Cowboys..

We also left plenty on the table, like Cooley's drops, a phantom holding call on Fauria during a 35-yard completion to Lloyd and failure to use Duckett or whatever else to punch it in from the 1, which resulted in a loss of possession on downs. There's a big difference between seven points from a TD and five points (Safety + FG). Then again, we could have still gone down the field and gotten the FG to have ten points. Hell, if Dallas fans want to live in the subjunctive, so can we.

Let's not act as if poor, unfortunate Dallas was the only one with errors.

Waking up in the morning to suddenly find your cancer is gone. That's a miracle.

No one in this world fighting. That's a miracle.

A guy blocking a FG in a stupid football game? That's taking advantage of opportunity.

:applause:

Someone can say we had some luck, Dallas screw things up with the 2 point convertion and the penalties (on this one I think we had our share since the beginning of the season). I say we deserve the win because the players never gave up and kept on fighting until the last seconds of the game.

HAIL
