bryanjr2003
it is unlikely at this point but who knows maybe this is the turning point in the season that the team was looking for something they could build off of and i think this could be it. Riggins has said and also Sonny that there are games and plays that change a teams outlook on the season maybe this will get them playing with some heart if they maintain the intensity that they had and lol keep fighting their guts out who knows
Dan T.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=26513665 Buring Questions Salisbury: The Skins aren't in the hunt because the defense is still too beat up for them to make it happen. For them to win out and make the playoffs, they will need some explosive performances from their offense and I don't see that happening, especially with Santana Moss banged up. Defense too beat up? Yesterday was the first game they've had all the projected starters healthy and on the field since, when? Preseason? Sean's wrong there.
RedskinInExile
I agree that no one, I mean no one should even be thinking about the playoffs for us. Perhaps we should win a couple of games in a row before we start letting the word playoffs roll off of your tongues. Let's face it, we played the Cowboys pretty tough yesterday considering there was a point there was our O was pretty much nonexistent and our D could not stop by ballet team from converting on third down. So, let's enjoy the win and look to next week. Hell, we are not even at .500 yet. Besides we have elections to think about in the meantime. I don't like it, but I agree with you. It was a pretty sloppy win to say the least. Couldn't get in the endzone on seven tries within the 5. Lack of offensive consistency. Defensive failures during key drives. Had it not been for that disrespectful 2-point conversion try and TO's bobble, we wouldn't even had the chance for that spectacular finish. I'd love to see us get on a winning tear and wind up in the playoffs, but right now we need drastic improvements in every aspect of the game (except special teams!). That Dallas game could be the start of something great, but only if we can take it to Philly
SkinsWizCubsDukes
Of course the Skins are in the hunt, until they are mathematically eliminated there is always a chance they will make the playoffs. JOE is right, yes they are in the race, but they need to play better to be able to make it happen. Salisbury is the biggest douche ever...he is always on the bandwagon, whichever team played well last week is the best team in his mind. Last week he was saying how the Pats were better than the Colts...hmmm
armada58
Theisman got it right...... Technically we are in the hunt, but realistically we won't be for long unless we play a lot better than we are now.
StevieInferior
u all do realize that we are one game out of a wild card right? I don't think that this team looks like a playofff team by and stretch....but to say we are too far out is simply ignoring the fact that everyone else sucks too
hervoicehoneyed
What the offense needs to do is to stop disappearing in the 3rd quarter! This trend has been going on for at least 3 games now.
terpfan
The defense is not banged up, it jsut isnt that good right now. We are still a long way off from paloff talk.

This makes me question what in the hell are they doing at half time. They must be lokking at boob magazines or something because they sure as hell are not making adjustments.

Darth Tater
The playoffs should be the furthest thing from this team's mind. They need to focus on Philly. As a fan, I'd love to see them rip off a win streak, but even if they finish on a very hot 6-2 tear they'd still only have 9 wins which I highly doubt is sufficient to get to the playoffs. Until they have the playoffs locked down, the Colts should think likewise.

NoDQForums
I think Theisman is right to some degree. Our team basically played 3 good quarters and was sipping tea during the third quarter. This team has the potential to make a run similar to the last year but there are two things remaining that must be changed. 1Consistancy: Meaning a full 60 minutes of great play instead of 45 minutes. 2Play Calling &/or Players: Very disturbing we get down into an opponent's red zone and we can not put the ball in from the one. We either need to use Duckett or Sellars or come up with a play action pass to do to keep defenses guessing. That was horrendous yesterday that we couldn't put that ball in. redskingluvr
One qn injury to either mcnabb or manning and everything changes. Our strategy on sunday should not be to win, but to injur mcnabb badly. very badly. Where is Tanya Harding these days? Where is a good woman when you need one? JoeGibbsThickandthin
It all goes to his week. If they win, they are 4-5 and probaly in a three way tie for second place in the division. Probaly 2 games behind the Giants with no more imposssible road games like at Indy or NY. So they have a shot. I wish they had a better defense this yr. jambro
The players are learning the plays and the coaches are still learning the players abilities. For the life of me, I still don't know why T.J. Duckett wasn't in the line-up to at least block if not run 4 times when we were inside the 5. Duckett has rushed 5 times for 24 yards. He is a bruiser. Sellers is a bruiser too. Where is the "JUMBO" package? I think that would make an interesting backfield. Just as the players need to use the tools the coaches are giving them, the coaches need to use the players to the best of their ability. This is still a learning process. I will be glad to see Campbell in there learning too.

Actually, looking at the remaining wild-card contenders' schedules, 9-7 is a probable scenario for most if not all of them. If we do make a push, our division record will probably make or break us, as Philly and Dallas will probably be in the wildcard hunt. (Very unlikely NY doesn't take the division.) :2cents:
BleedBNG
Salsbury and Allen could have atleast done some research. That is the problem with those clowns. If they cared to look at the standings instead of opening the *******s attached to their faces they would realize that the Redskins are one game out of the last wildcard spot right now. So how in the hell could they be out of it? Atlanta just lost to the Lions, The Rams have lost two straight, the Eagles have lost three straight and four of their last five right. Pay the **** attention if you have are on TV or you will get clowned. :applause: And Minny just lost to San Fran 9-3.
Bonez3
if the season ended today 4-4 makes the playoffs. The Skins are 3-5. I would have to say on mere mathmatics alone they are in the hunt. How the hell do these guys get paid money to talk about football. Do they even look at the figures sometimes.?
Never21Forgotten36
Uuhhh....Didnt we finish out the season about the same way as the Steelers last season? Haha ummm.... I mean considering they won the Super Bowl and everything, and we got ousted in the second round of the Paloffs. Id say they finished slightly better than we did. :2cents:
DG_is_GOD
I think Theismann hit the nail on the head. Scoring consistently and stopping teams consistently needs to be improved if we want to make the playoffs. love your signature. game wasnt televised for me I watched it say the field goal was blocked then that it was good totally messing with my head I closed my computer down frustrated then two minutes later saw what happened on ESPN... what a rush

RIDETHEWALRUS
We really shouldn't be thinking about the playoffs even though we are on a 1 game winning streak. Right now we have to go out and beat philly, then we have to beat Tampa, then we have a couple home games against tough opponnents in ATL, and Carolina. None of those games are going to be ealks in the park, so forget the playoffs...for now.
