Gusthecat
Bingo. Two years ago we overpaid for Cornelius Griffin and Marcus Washington and now they are the cornerstones of our defense and their contracts are never mentioned. You don't overpay if you do your homework. Yep, we overpaid for Moss too.
dfannyc
It's nice to read that the only thing he could find wrong with the Redskins off-season is that they, (in his estimation) overpaid for some of the guys they aquired in FA.Which won't make a lick of difference to thier performance on the field. Just to Snyder's wallet. Actually, it can. The salary cap *CAN* effect on the field play. Look back to when the 49ers and the Cowboys subsidised their future to win today. (ie the last 10 years of non-winning teams) The Redskins started down that road too. Finally Daniel Snyder figured it out as he was on his way down that path also signing Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders and the like.
TheMalcolmConnection
I'm not debating that. I would be a fool to do so. However, we've beaten you twice lately. Lately being last year. :whoknows: I suppose it all depends on how you interpret the time frame of "lately". Don't worry about it. If we sweep them, it's all about "5 rings baby. FIIIIIIIIVE RIIIIIIINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGSSS!" but if they beat us, all of a sudden it's all about current events. I happen to remember current events. 14-13. 35-7. dfannyc
How many times has Dallas finished ahead of the Skins in the last 7 years again? Oh, that's right, once. What time of year is Dallas' time to shine? I know, when Manzier's go on sale at J.C. Penney. Parcells is all over that. How many times has Dallas won the superbowl over the Washington Redskins? :hammer: Stop being so petty. You keep bringing up the past and at this point, Dallas has the better record. Gusthecat
redskins always have a good off season report card, doesn't mean anything Are you being sarcastic? We don't count off seasons prior to Gibbs being rehired. End of next season we will be hearing about how Gibbs turned around a fiasco in three short years (and three off-seasons.) kevinklein
Me too:Current events: 14 of 17 Historical events: 8 SB appearences, 5 SB wins, most playoff wins in NFL history You have to remember that we're Redskins fans. Current events that play to our strengths exclude anything that happened before last year. Therefore, we are 2-0 against the Cowboys in "current events". It's how homerism works. If it was ALL ABOUT history, Dallas, Washington, Pittsburgh and NE fans might as well call it a day.
Smoot Point Really
I think Dallasfanforlife is the only Dallas fan I know who was happy with the Cowboy off-season. Sure, TO was a decent addition and they didn't pay much for him. However, offensive line was their position of weakness and they didn't address that in the draft. The journeymen they added may be serviceable at best. Parcells has been a mistake. His years at Dallas make me wonder if his success was due mostly to great coordinators and not so much his own personal achievements. Coordinators under him include: Belichick, Coughlin, Crennel, Groh, and Weis... Not too shabby.
TheMalcolmConnection
The NFL is quite the tempermental beast. It's "What have you done for me lately?" Say the Skins bust out twenty-in-a-row against the Cowboys but don't win a single playoff game, that history still going to help you sleep at night? 21KillzCowboys
Not much of it ever. Dallas leads the All-time series by nearly 20 games. That's dominance in the NFL. And the Skins dominate the Pokes in the postseason.

TheMalcolmConnection
Ever heard of "Death by a Thousand Qualifications"? I'd look at that up and that's basically your argument. What's the point of having bragging rights if you can always fall back on history? Because I GUARANTEE that if you swept US last year, we wouldn't hear any of this 5 rings stuff. ouvan59
Stop being so petty. You keep bringing up the past and at this point, Dallas has the better record. Ummm, your boy drew first blood with his "The Skins always win the offseason comment," which is obviously in reference to the Skins under Snyder. I was just pointing out that since the Snyder came on board in 1999 that not only have they won the offseason they finished ahead of the Cowboys in the majority of those "winning the offseason" seasons. If you can't follow the bouncing ball, don't get involved.
TheMalcolmConnection
Because if you wanted to, we could SO easily go back and forth and back and forth of just how each team compiled that record. Maybe the Cowboys racked up wins in a horrible NFC East over the years? That's just how the Eagles have done it. Does that make them any better? That's why I concentrate on current events. Make things so much easier.

bubba9497
no i am following Bubba's (the king of your forum) advice and using FACT'S Dallas has finish better in the Standings then Washington 2 of 3 times. ouvan59=weaker:silly: 1. I am the King of all MEDIA 2. Using facts is always the way to go, but they have to be relevant to the point your making According to the NFL rankings The Skins , Giants, and Pokes all tied for second in the NFC East with a 6-10 record, since none were in the playoffs a tie breaker isn't done, and with draft order, that can be decided by many ways, based on qualifiers other than playoff tie breakers, even flipping a coin. 3. What you should have pointed out is that despite the identical records, Dallas swept the Skins in 04, so one could conclude Dallas was better than the Redskins that year.
