Living Room or Fed Ex Field?

How about go to 8 and watch 8 on T.V. sounds good to me

I think I am going to 11 this year though hopefully.

There are advantages at home though when a play is challenged or somthing questionable happens you can see the replay whereas Dan is too busy paying the bills:doh: But hey all you have to do is call your buddy that wasn't fortunate enough to get tickets and find out what transpired:silly:

Although it's easier to analyze and watch replays at home, I prefer being at the game. Although I've never seen a game at FedEx, I saw somewhere in the neighborhood of 125 games at RFK and the atmosphere was incredible, especially during a close game.

I’m sure everyone will have some kind of opinion, but for me there is nothing like being at the game. I don’t care of it’s at Fed Ex, Dallas, New Orleans, or any other venue, I want to be there and be heard. I am part of the 12th man, home, or away.

See you at Fed Ex Sept. 11, 2006

You can't beat the atmosphere at the game; however, you have to wonder at what price many regulars are going to think about taking a hard look at whether its worth it. Individuals who bought club seats on a 10-year contrract at $99 per seat in '97 will have to pay $250 per game if they wish to re-up. I can't see many folks doing that. Prices for the general seating areas are still OK but raising the lower level $30 per ticket and parking by $10 per space this past offseason seemed a little ridiculous. When one can get DirecTV Sunday Ticket for like $200 for the season, more people may decide to stay home.

So, most of my 'Skins-watching experiences have been in front of a television, not in stands. Still, I see advantages to that. One can see the game much more clearly and up close on television, one gets the benefit of instant replay, expert (sometimes) analysis, and access to restrooms unparalleled in any stadium.

And one doesnt pay a million dollars for food and drinks. Also one doesnt have to stand in lines.

Any of you guys that wanna sit at home and watch the "important games" on TV, feel free to send me your tickets and I promise to represent you with honor.

I echo that.

I have been to three games in FEDEX, zero at RFK. The majority of my Redskin game watching came from the nosebleeds at the Vet and the Linc, anytime they were playing the Iggles, or the Iggles had a bye week or had a Monday Night game. Otherwise, since I am too cheap for direct TV right now, I stick to listening ( yes, I said 'listening' haha ) to the Redskins game via the internet. :silly:

The games are great when FOX shows them, CBS cameras are lackluster compared to them. Nothing can compare to the excitement to seeing a game at FedEx. Whenever I see the Skins lose on TV I'm angry and basically ruins my weekend...the end of it. If I see them lose at FedEx I still had a blast and can't wait to go back. HTTR

FedEx field and RFK before that. No comparison for me.

The limited view you get on TV is frustrating. I also usually end up muting the commentary on TV. It has been a long time since I found much actual expert commentary on TV.

The only info missing for me at the stadium is the specific injury a player has and whether or not he'll return to the game. The radio broadcast will take care of that if the signal is strong enough.

I haven't been able to get the broadcast for quite a few years now at the stadium. I hoping the new stations change that.

Nothing beats being there. Seeing the entire offensive formation, the way the whole defense adjusts to motion. Watching the play develop after the snap. Isolating on whatever single player or matchup I want to see. Seeing the coaches and players interact on the sidelines...

There is so much going on at the game that is never shown on TV.

And that doesn't even include the fan experience.

As others have said, I still watch 8 games at home, although it was only seven last year. Being at the Redskins game in Phila was a fantastic experience also.

I have been to exactly one NFL game in my life. I attended the 1994 'Skins @ Broncos game in the old Mile High Stadium. Sadly, in the closing minutes, Elway zipped a pass just out of Darrell Green's reach to an open receiver in the end zone and the game just slipped out of Washington's grip. Still, it was an interesting experience being in the stands (in the nosebleed seats) and taking in the sights, sounds and smells of an actual pro football contest.

So, most of my 'Skins-watching experiences have been in front of a television, not in stands. Still, I see advantages to that. One can see the game much more clearly and up close on television, one gets the benefit of instant replay, expert (sometimes) analysis, and access to restrooms unparalleled in any stadium.

So, while it's kinda cool to take in a game (and I'd never refuse tickets to attend a 'Skins game if they were offered to me) I feel like I'm getting more information and viewing quality by watching it on TV.

Who's with me on this? Who's against me?

I'm 50/50, both of them have their "pro & cons" !!! :)

I think both have their strong points. The thing against TV is you have to watch what they decide to show you. At the game you watch what you want. Alot goes on you don't see on TV. Obviously it's much more comfortable watching at home and the instant replay is nice.

I go to the game and record it also. Then when I get home watch it on TV. Best of both worlds for me.

Also make the game day a whole day experience. Get out to the field early and tailgate, and hang out after the game and talk football with other fans. Eliminating the stress of fighting all that traffic makes the day alot more fun.

You have "mastered" it like a science.!!! :)

When I lived in DC, I loved going to RFK, but I was kind of a nazi and a junkie for watching at home with only my mom and brothers since everyone else sucks on gameday! Now that I'm in AZ, I'd just about give anything to watch a game in the vicinity, knowing that there are Skins fans abound. Out here... I'm the only one I know, so I got what I wished for... to watch my games in solitude most of the time... (its like Twilight Zone breaking your glasses on the library steps)

Now I miss more than just me getting passionate about the games. Out here, no ones even passionate about hating us...

Anyhow...(snif)... the grass is greener..

I love my current arrangement. I get to 1 or 2 games a year in person, but watch the rest on the tube. I'm in KC, so obviously I cant get to all of the games, but even if I did still live in DC, I doubt I'd want to go to all of home games anyways. Games at the stadium are a great, fun, energizing experience...but draining at the same time.

For me personally, I get just as much enjoyment out of watching the game on my 50in plasma with surround sound pumping, while IM'img my buddies each time the Skins do something good. Oh' and dont forget the endless supply of cold beers with NO lines.

And if things turn for the worse in the game, I can always go upstairs and pay a visit to the "little lady" for some emotional comforting...wink..

If the game matters, I want to see it on TV...alone!

Overall, I enjoy going to a game every year, but I don't enjoy them as much (unless they are meaningless).

I need to concentrate on the big games and I do that better at home!

Couldn't have said it any better, my friend.

I like to watch the big games by myself or with another die harder that knows what's going on and understands the stakes. It's just better that way.

I cannot stand being interrupted during a skins game. The only way I can relax is if we have a game like we did against the niners in '05.

On the other hand I absolutely love going to Fed-Ex. I would never turn down tickets to see the skins play live. So both places have their ups and downs.

This is something I've been thinking a lot about lately. I think being at the game is really awesome, but I wouldn't want to go to more than one or two a year.

I feel like when I watch on TV I am able to grasp the game better, knowing what players are making which plays etc.

I went to the NYG @ WAS game last year. When it was over I only knew 2 things: 1. The Skins won. 2. Santana Moss had a career game.

So strangely, I do prefer watching the game from my living room couch. The atmospher at a game, when you make it out, however, is definitley unbeatable.

I actualyl enjoy listening to the announcers, though. It's strange.

Leonard Shapiro

wasn't it solomon?

and for me, i prefer to watch games at home. there are several reasons.....

beer doesn't take 10 minutes to get, and it's not 8 bucks.

i don't miss anything when i take a piss. and i don't have to stand in a 10 minute line in a urine filled room.

i get the stats constantly, i'm a stats guy.

i don't run the risk of tumbling down 40 steps while intoxicated.

the atmosphere is great at games, i've been to at least 2, usually 3 every year since 2000. but going to a game is a 10-12 hour affair. this year, i'm hitting the ES tailgate for the vikes game, that may change my mind. ;)
