TheREALJBird
The team most like us from the AFC probably is The Denver Broncos. But who cares? If you're just gonna say "who cares?" then why did you start the thread?
GrimReefa
you could make an arguement about for any team, but i would say right now coming in to this season it has to be the dolphins. wait a minute here me out.... Both teams have been carried by thier defense and coaching. both have old declining kickers both have talented young RB's, and should have a solid running attack. both have big time WR's and alot of targets. BOTH HAVE QUESTIONS AT QB! if brunell blows up the skins will be in the superbowl. if culpepper is culpepper the fins have a real good team. Conversely if not, both teams can make the adjustment. No one really knows where these two teams are gonna end up. There are huge question marks on the two teams' seasons. yeah the skins look strong but it is the nfc east. while the fins have to go through new england. Both are expected to be good teams by everone, but no one expects them to win it all. (although i think the skins chances are alot better then the dolphins.) offense/defense/ special teams/ enthusiasm around coaching the Miami Dolphins are the Redskins AFC Bizarro Twins. Wow...I really like that comparison. Good call, earl...
MidwayMonster31
If this was last year, I would say the Steelers or an older Jaguars. This year, I'd still have to say the Steelers, or the Broncos with a better pass rush.

(although i think the skins chances are alot better then the dolphins.) offense/defense/ special teams/ enthusiasm around coaching the Miami Dolphins are the Redskins AFC Bizarro Twins. I don't like the comparison..........and here's why; QB Dolphins - They could get a healthy Daunte who plays to his 2004, MVP-type level, or the Daunte of '05....or he could not recover, then we have Joey Harrington. Extremely boom or bust. Reskins - There is much less volatility here.....not much reason to think that Brunell won't play a little better than last year w/ Al Saunders on board.....but still, very little chance of excellent play either. RB Dolphins - Again, a lot of reason to think that they will get great production form this position.....but it's not a guarantee. Redskins - Why would anyone doubt that Portis will get his yards....again, more stability here. WR & TE Dolphins - So much depends on the QB, but Chambers has proven that he can be productive w/ the likes of Fiedler, Feeley, Frerotte, etc.....so he'll be fine.....could elite with a healthy Pepp. Booker and McMichael are both solid. Depth is average at both. Redskins - This is probably where we'll disagree the most. While I think that the depth here is good.....I'm not overly impressed with the talent. Moss and Cooley are very good, but IMO Randel El and Lloyd are average at best. Dropoff seems huge if anything happens to Cooley. OL Dolphins - lack any names, but return all starters from last year's line that averaged top-5 in NFL in yards per carry and least sacks allowed. Key is Hudson Houck, best OL coach in the league. Redskins - I have to plead ignorance here. DEFENSE I'll keep this simple......Redskins were top-5 last year......Dolphins about 20th. I don't see any reason for the Skins to be worse. Dolphins SHOULD be better, but with an entirely new secondary, who knows? Not worth a positional breakdown, Redskins are better. COACHING Head Coaches are pretty opposite, grizzled veteran, SB winner in Gibbs....Saban a promosing young coach in only his 2nd year. But the coordinator positions ARE similar IMO. Saunders and Williams are considered among the best.....and Miami has Capers and Mularkey (both so good as coordinators that they parlayed it into HC jobs). Overall I'd say that they are very different type teams........the Dolphins a boom or bust type who could go anywhere from 7-12 wins, and the Skins as a consistant team who seems destined for about 10-11 wins. aussieskin
Can I assume from this that someone actually thinks that there is a team as good as the skins in the NFL.....I DONT THINK SO....no other team is like ours in any way, and this season we are going to prove this, if you want a team that is close to the skins try the Dolphins team that won every game....which we could do this season...or the redskins team that only lost two games in the 90's i think
BigRay
I have to say the Steelers at one time I always though it was the Cheifs when Schotty was coaching them and they had the nigerian nightmare.
Skinz89
No AFC or NFC team has as much depth at WR but a team that is close would be Carolina and the Dolphins for AFC

sackfumble
If the Bengals could add one or two defensive lineman in the next offseason, they would dominate the AFC.They are solid at every position with the exception of D-line.They added Sam Adams, but still need help. Their offensive line is really strong-excellent QB and receivers with a solid running game. The secondary was injury riddled last year, but really good if healthy.LBs are good-Odell Thurman is a beast.Really good kicker and special teams. They are maybe two defensive lineman away from being a force.Like the Skins they needed an edge pass rusher(like an Andre Carter) but didn't get one. Also need another plugger to go with Sam Adams in the middle.Maybe one year away, but should still make some noise this year if they avoid the major injuries. illone
Maybe the chargers, if brunell goes down for some reason. Chargers run the bulk of their offense out of the Power-I formation. We don't. As far as coaching staff is concerned the only team that's close to us in that regard is New England.

FunBunch7
Let's just do the entire league...here it goes Redskins......Chiefs Giants.........Colts Cowboys.....Broncos Eagles........Dolphins Bears..........Ravens Lions..........Texans Packers.......Titans Vikings.........Raiders Bucs...........Browns Falcons.......Chargers Panthers.....Steelers Saints........Jaguars Cardinals....Benglas Rams........Bills 49ers........Jets Seahawks..Patriots This was pretty tough...some multiple teams fit better wiht the same team in the other conference but I wasnted to match up all the teams. Some I based on the "direction" a team seemed to be heading in.
D'Pablo
I think that some of our previous guesstimations were correct when we chose the Dolphins. Yeah, we look a hell of a lot like the Dolphins.
Mania
The last couple of years I'd have to say the Pittsburg Steelers because of Russ Grimm's connections and the top defense. This year our offense once it starts clicking will be more like the last 5 years KC and St. Louis Rams offense.
