Good stuff! I remember Bisping was outpointing Hendo in that second round, kinda had me worried. My two favorite ground strikes ever are from Henderson, the flying H-Bomb on Bisping, and that loud ass H-Bomb on Babalu's head..

AMANAH IT'S OVER!

Alistair Overeem Scheduled for Glory World Series Bout in October

It appears as though Alistair Overeem's next fight will not be for Strikeforce after all.

Glory World Series released a poster on Wednesday for their upcoming October event, and front and center was the Strikeforce heavyweight champion. MMA Fighting then confirmed with Martijn de Jong, Overeem's trainer at Golden Glory and Glory World Series promoter, that "The Reem" will in fact be fighting on the card.

"No opponent named yet but probably a MMA match," de Jong said.

Not even can crushing in Dream? Son I am disappoint. Who is the best guy out there he can fight outside of the UFC/Strikeforce?

SU, what's your sig from?

And when's Brock return?

That sig is from the Bellator league on MTV2, or the beginning of a porno.
Might be the best sig on ES...only thing that would make it better would be if it was a triangle.

Reminds me of the Lingerie Football League

Pros Picking Fedor: 18

Pros Picking Henderson: 14

No Pick: 2

http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/Pros-Pick-Fedor-vs-Henderson-34315

Buddy Clinton: Rocky IV. Enough said.

Kyle Kingsbury: After being dominated for two and a half rounds, Fedor will make the comeback of his life and pull out an armbar for the win in jaw-dropping, edge-of-your-seat fashion.

Eddy Millis: I think Fedor wins this one by KO in the first round -- by big KO.

Don't know if anyone here is into wrestling, but my husband's wrestling partner here at the OTC hit the craziest takedown at the Greco Jr. World Championships this week in Romania. Here's the link. It's hilarious. He went on to win the match and took 3rd place in the tourney.

Inside MMA has reported that Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem has received a release letter from the promotion. Overeem, one of the original participants in the Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix, pulled out of the tournament after refusing to accept a bout date for the second leg of the tournament in September.

The champion claimed that Strikeforce had originally told him to be ready for an October or November date. After preparing to begin his camp at the start of August, in addition to an injured toe coming out of his fight with Fabricio Werdum, Overeem felt he wouldn't be ready to accept a date so close.

Business as usual......

Pride 35, Fedor vs. Henderson picks:

Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley:

Paul Daley is supposedly a purple belt in BJJ, but he looks like a white belt when strikes are involved. Everyone knows he's a striker and likes to bang. Unfortunately for him Tyron Woodley is a former NCAA division 1 wrestler with nasty takedowns and the ability to submit and beat up guys from the top position. Woodley looks to be the real deal and I expect him to jump to the UFC eventually.

Woodley by guillotine, Round 2

Robbie Lawler vs. Tim Kennedy:

This is another match where one guy is going to want to stay standing and the other is going to be looking for takedowns. Lawler is going to be looking for another big KO to add to his resume, but Tim Kennedy is a tough guy that's never been KO'd. Kennedy is an excellent grappler and has the power and technique in his takedowns to put Lawler on his back. I don't see him risking a highlight reel KO by testing Lawler on the feet. Look for him to control this fight a' la GSP.

Kennedy by UD

Marloes Coenen vs. Miesha Tate (for the Women's WW strap):

Marloes Coenen took a pretty good beating in her last fight at the hands of Liz Carmouche, before she was able to sneak in a triangle and finish it. But make no mistake, she's one of the top women's competitors along with Cyborg and Sarah Kaufman. Her strength is her ground game but she's well rounded and can stand and bang too. Miesha Tate is a wrestler and submission artist who is on the rise herself. She was on her way to this title shot before suffering a knee injury last year. I don't think Coenen is the person you want to face if you're a female mixed martial artist coming off of a year layoff though. It will be interesting to see if Tate can use her wrestling to control the fight without getting caught by Coenen. But ultimately I have to go with the champion here.

Coenen by armbar, Round 3

Fedor vs. Hendo:

Wow, I love both of these fighters but ultimately I'm a bigger hugger of Fedor's nuts. This is a very difficult fight to predict. Both of these guys have performed well against bigger opponents in the past and I can't remember the last time Fedor fought someone smaller than him...Matt Lindland maybe? Hendo has been on a roll lately. He's won 5 out of his last 6, and he nearly made it 6 out of 6, had Jake Shields not survived that onslaught in the first round of their match. Fedor on the other hand has been struggling, which sounds almost absurd to say after watching him destroy people for nearly a decade without a loss. I don't know if he is lacking the passion he once had, if it's just the product of aging or if the size of the HWs these days is just too much for him. I suspect it's a combination of all of the above and Henderson isn't going to be any easier than his last few bouts. We know that Hendo can wrestle and take guys down, we know that he has a right hand that puts people to bed and we know that his chin and his strike defense is great. As for Fedor, we know he has big power in both hands, his Judo makes him dangerous in the clinch and he is much stronger than he looks. Fedor has a ridiculous killer instinct and slaps in submissions with unbelievable quickness and precision. As for weaknesses, Hendo has been susceptible to submissions in the past and Fedor has shown problems defending against the submissions and positions of BJJ guys as of recently. It's very hard for me to predict the outcome of this bout, but sadly, and for the first time ever, I actually don't feel like Fedor will win. :(

Hendo by UD, and hopefully Fedor bows out and retires gracefully

Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley: I want to pick Woodley here, but I got a feeling that Daley will land something that flattens him before he can get the takedown.

Daley by (T)KO, Round 1

Robbie Lawler vs. Tim Kennedy: Kennedy is bit more well-rouned, and he should try to get it to the ground as soon as he can. Kennedy can probably find success on the feet as well, but with Lawler's one-shot kill power, it wouldn't be wise to play that game for long. Kennedy can get Lawler on the ground and work his ground game to an easy win if he's smart.

Kennedy by Submission, Round 2

Marloes Coenen vs. Miesha Tate: Coenen has the advantage everywhere but wrestling, luckily Tate's best asset is her wrestling. Coenen will probably be taken down repeatedly, but she has shown herself to be pretty good while on her back (*Quagmire* giggity *Quagmire). I could see Tate winning a decision, based on takedowns, but I think 5 rounds is too long for her to play the ground game without being caught in a submission.

Coenen by Submission, Round 4

Fedor vs. Dan Henderson: I want Fedor to win, therefore he shall lose. It's really that simple :(.

Henderson by (T)KO, Round 2

Pride 35, Fedor vs. Henderson picks:

Nice!

Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley: Real simple, I think Woodley cruises to a victory via top control.

Woodley (Dec)

Robbie Lawler vs. Tim Kennedy: Kennedy by doing the same thing as Woodley.

Kennedy (Dec)

Marloes Coenen vs. Miesha Tate: Tate is a little hotter IMO

Tate, G&P TKO (RD 3)

Fedor Emelienenko vs. Dan Henderson: Just the anticipation for what these guys are going to throw at one another makes the adrenaline start to flow. Wham, bam, thank you mam. I think they'll both feel each others' power and want to clinch up. This puppy goes to the ground enough and I think Fedor will eventually find a submission. Here's to hoping they just stand there throwing overhand rights every 5 seconds.

Fedor, Armbar (RD3)
