The Animal Trainer
Saunders' offense is indeed a timing offense. But the brilliance of his offense is not the plays themselves, but the way he mixes them up and runs several different plays out of a single formation. He keeps defenses off balance in that way, and they never quite know what is coming next. He's really the Gregg Williams of offensive coordinators. That last line just gave me chills. "the Gregg Williams of offensive coordinators." Am I crazy or are we stacked at every position? I'm a bartender down in Nashville and usually rep the Skins with my 05 draft day hat and opposing NFL fans sometimes like to talk football with me, tell me Snyder can't buy a championship, yada yada yada... My trump card is always, "What is our weakness?" The answer is usually something about Brunell being a question. But honestly, with the new offense, we all know Mark can make plays. Santana wasn't breaking our all time recieving record by throwing it to himself. If Brunell is our weakest link, we've got a pretty damn strong chain. MossFan89
I know KC had one of the best offenses for the past couple of years, but I worry about the description: a "timing offense". It brings nightmares of receivers being jammed at the line of scrimmage and disrupting the pass patterns only to have Brunnel pummeled behind the line.I didn't pay much attention to KC last year except for the highlights... I'm not saying Saunders offense is the chuck & duck, I'm asking. last season i seen alot of the KC games since my uncle is a KC fan. man if our offense is anything near like it was in KC, i say beware NFC east beware. we are gonna be unstoppable.:notworthy
misterfan
I hope this season doesn't come as a shock to some of you, but really, our DEFENSE will win most the games. This offense will not score as much as KC or move the ball up and down the field as much as KC, because of one reason: WE WON'T HAVE TO. Another factor to consider is that the NFC East could produce 3 top 10 defenses this year and no other division can say that. And then there is the Mark Brunell factor. He just can't throw the deep ball as well as we would like. Most of his completions last year were short throws because thats all Gibbs called with his conservative offense. I see Brunell throwing more deep passes, hitting only a few, having a lower completion percentage, but Clinton gains more yardage simply because of the fact that we are at least trying to throw deep so 8-9 men cannot ever crowd the line.
