SUNSTONE
In the context of forum courtesy, a request to limit "preaching" is appropriate. A little goes a long way and tales of faith-healing impress no one.In the context of The Word of Jesus, I'm way out of line! So let me get this straight. You are preaching to me that I should preach less? It is your opinion/belief that I should talk about my opinions/beliefs less? And how much less? Oh yeah that's right I should keep it "personal" between just me and God. Well in the famous words of some TV show I have never watched. michael_33
The truth is...Christianity is being yanked out of our schools, courts and our songs... Just like the cartoons when Allah was in and riots were all over the place and blablabla...But then it was ok to make a cartoon that was tasteless towards Jesus, but no more against any other religion... I think us Christians know exactly what is going on....!Jesus is slowly being written off as some folklore or JOKE of a religion, but all the others are becoming more acceptable... NOW why would that be? Boy oh boy....Jesus is getting closer every day...isn't he? You people need to wake up! All I can say is....good for her...Good job girl...!!Maybe...just maybe....Someone listened and understood what you were saying!

There was a level playing field, it's called Freedom of Speech. Now people with religious beliefs are no longer allowed to say things in certian places and times. Everyone has beliefs, but now not everyone can express them. That's an unfair playing field.

prophet
I'm scared! I agree with Poker, in this quote from above now that it is being brought down to the level of the other religions, you feel like your being persecuted. that's not persecution. persecution is a million jews being thrown in an oven. persecution is however many christians getting stoned for not accepting the emperor as their god. /QUOTE]But for the true Christian persecution is coming... and it will hit the western church. Lets not also forget... outside of western christianity christians are being martyred all the time. I believe it was over 200 known martyrs last year. Shallow1
"The Clark County School District free speech regulations prohibit district officials from organizing a prayer at graduation or selecting speakers for such events in a manner that favors religious speech or a prayer." This is true, but there is no law in the USA that prevents students from initiating a conversation, prayer, or even a speech about there religion. Its a students right to do so, read the law. After the student initiates the topic faculty are even allowed to comment on there own opinion to promote learning and disscusion amongst the students. The student was chosen because they were #1 in there class not for any other reason. People really need to learn the law before they try and judge when and how to enforce or comment on it. It is a completely different thing. I think he is correct especially when schools ban certain christian themes from plays but lets others slide <LI>The New York City school system allows menorahs and Islamic symbols in holiday displays, but not nativity scenes. Christians thereby are excluded from inclusiveness, presumably in the name of sensitivity. http://www.psaf.org/archive/2004/November/FederpublicschoolsACLUscrooge112904.htm

SUNSTONE
Not true. People with religious beleifs are not allowed to demand that our government openly endorse those beliefs. It is a completely different thing. So now they endorse nonreligion, which is a belief. That is not how "Freedom of Speech" was designed. Now it's Freedom of Speech As Long as it's not religion For nearly 200 years things like prayer and the bible were in schools, then all of a sudden the supreme court decides...."oh you know what, they wrote that constitution and then they went and broke the law for nearly 200 years, let's fix that now."
