Beaudry
The PS3 comes equiped with a Blue-Ray DVD player and it will costs $600. Just the Blue-Ray DVD player is priced at $1000. What's up with that? You must assume that the Blue-Ray price will drop below $600 by November when the PS3 is released. Realistically, it needs to drop at least another $100+. From what I read...the PS3 may not play Blu-Ray movies...at least at first, but that hasn't been confirmed.
HOF44
I saw Blu-ray movies for sale at Wal-mart this weekend. They were 19.99. If the PS3 can't play Blu-ray, I predict they will lose this round to the Xbox. Cause no way I would pay that much more for no real difference in capability. G-Prime
I thought the core system didn't include the addon to play the movies.
Xameil
I thought the core system didn't include the addon to play the movies. maybe the 599 one does have it...kinda like the 360 can't play the HD DVD without the addon
Beaudry
The difference between the two PS3's is the $500 one won't include bundled Wi-Fi and slots for memory sticks, SD cards and compact flash. Also, it will have a smaller hard drive.
carlsbadd
I am going to sit out the HD and Blu ray battle . It should not be to long before one format goes under, or there will be a player that will play both formats.

I don't know if it will be soon that one wins out, but there will be a player that does both. Don't want to get suckered into the BETA/VHS thingy here.
