EASPORTS: NFL Head Coach

Well, I'm off to a 3-0 start with the "Skins right now. I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. Sure, Brunell pisses me off sometimes when he doesn't throw to the right receiver or throws a pointless interception. But hey, that's what happens to coaches. You try and call the best plays and get the best matches, but in the end, it comes down to players executing, which a coach can't control. And what is the whole point of this game, being a coach. Like others have said, if you want to control your players, don't get this game. This is not Madden and was not intended to be. Sure, there are some flaws in the game, but this is the first ever version, and will only improve. If you don't like how things are run in the game, e-mail EA and let them know. They need customer feedback in order to know what to fix and what to improve or change. If you think it is tedious playing the game, remember that the next time you get pissed off at Gibbs and co. They have a lot on their plate and not a whole lot of free time. Remember that the practice that takes all of 5 minutes on the game would be 2-2.5 hours in real life, and the game planning would also take hours. So when you think this game is long and drawn out, imagine what real coaches are doing.

BTW-I knocked off Dallas 76-10 in Week 2. Not sure how exactly it happened, since I have no control over the players, but let's just say my gameplan worked really well. I got Brunell jacked up as well as the wide receivers. The O-line and Portis are pretty much dominant in the game, as well as the defense. Brunell threw for 333 yards with 5 td's, and a passer rating of 122.1. Portis only had 64 yards on 16 carries, but 2 td's. Moss had 6 catches for 177 yards. But the real reason I dominated Dallas so badly was my 9 Int's on Defense. Yeah, that's right, 9 interceptions! ST led the way with 4. I also had around 5 sacks. Not exactly sure right now, but that sounds about right. (So if Gibbs or anyone is reading this board, get back to me and I'll let you know how to beat Dallas this year)

Overall, I enjoy the game. It does get a little drawn out at times, but is a first stab by EA at something different. If you are unsure about the game, wait a little until the price goes down and then grab it. I think it's worth a shot.

I felt so bad about taking Joe Gibbs job that I set up an interview with him and hired him back. I might go coach the Texans because the Redskins without Gibbs as HC is just not right.

Yeah, me too. I hired him back as my QB coach.

Also, what is up with Greg Williams rating? It is horrible for a guy who has been producing top 5 and 10 defenses year in and year out. And what is deal with DB coach Jerry Gray in the game. He is looking kind of pale (EA screwed up and made him white).

I already have questions/complaints into EA on both of these matters.

how do you play it online? like what is there to do vs others since its online enabled

I have not tried that yet but I guess we all sit around our offices and send e-mails to each other? :D This reminds me of Front Office Football and I loved those games. An updated roster would have been nice. They still have Patrick and Lavar on the roster and have omitted all the signings.

Well, it seems there are many mixed reviews about this game. I had planned on renting it before I laid out the cash to buy it, but after reading posts here, in several threads I may pass all together & just keep my $$$$ in my pocket until Madden is released in August.
