w00t. I drafted Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Chad Jackson for the Oakland Raiders!!!!

But yea, it is sorta boring but i like it. I give it a 5 out of 10. It takes way to long to get to the NFL Draft, Free Agency, you can only do trades at certain times, and only hire coaches at certain times.

You have to be real organized and write stuff down on paper too.

Dont you hate the game play you just call plays and watch:doh:

Yea, I wish you can atleast control the people your QB passes it too. Or you could go to "Options" and turn that "On" or "Off".

You know, the game is called "NFL Head Coach". Not NFL QB, or any other position.

The point of the game is to take the job of a head coach and build a team and see how they perform. If all you want to do is control the players, that is what Madden is for.

Sadly I purchased this game before reading your comments... I hate it! I'm sure actual NFL coaches would be offended by the retardedness of it all (No Offense Cowboy Fans)

i feel you i swear this is the worst thing i ever bought:mad:

I actually like the game a lot. For those complaining about the ratings they start low but they're ranged like 69 - 95 and stuff like that. The better they are in practice the more the ratings will rise to the potential of the player. Whenever I play Madden I only play about a season or two before I start simming through the season so it works out well for me.

I agree with the person earlier that said the qb seems to chuck it to the wrong person but it's definitly realistic. The qbs follow the checkdowns so if they already looked that way and the receiver was covered at that time better luck next time. You can change the order of the checkdowns at the line but how well prepared your qb is for the game also matters so if the awareness is low bad decisions will still be made.

Definitly not for everyone but impossible to throw in with Madden like some ppl suggested.

Alright ya'll.

I have been playing this game quite a bit since I purchased it on Wednesday. First things first, it is not Madden. There are considerable differences in game play, manipulation of attributes, and game planning. Each game, each week, there are no shortcuts. You must prepare, create 'money' plays, and tailor your depth chart. Sometimes, your players go 'cold.' Sometimes, they are on fire. The trick is to pay attention to your depth chart during the game, and see who needs motivating, strategy, etc.

I would venture to say that those who hate the game are just impatient. These are the same folks that looks for little glitches in Madden, and use the same pass play to score every time. This is different. Moreover, it will take some time to understand and appreciate the differences between this and Madden. But I think it's a great game.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm in week 5...

Since your pretty far along, one question. Is it realistic in the sense you can setup plays. What I mean is can you run a look four times (say an off tackle) and then when you play action from the same formation, can you catch them off guard. From what it sounds like, it could be the ultimate strategy game???

Really, I dunno. But I would surmise, given the extent to which EA Sports has gone to create a realistic coaching game, that you can 'set up' plays. If you have a 'money' run one week (meaning you practice this play w/ success), you could execute a play-action out of that formation...you can even add it to your playbook that next week...and make that your 'money' play.

Again, my main point to people is that this game is NOT Madden. It is a completely different format, and there are certain subtleties that you cannot 'sim' your way through. But once you start to see the fruits of practice and coaching, and how you can make your players better, it's really cool.

I'm peeved that this game isn't available on the Xbox 360. I just finished my 30-year franchise in Madden. Jason Campbell retired as the all-time leading passer (yards) and Clinton Portis the all-time leading rusher (yards, TDs). Ray Brown, Jon Jansen and Clinton Portis were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Gibbs had 33 Lombardi trophies. I sim'd most of the games.

Did Gibbs not retire till he was 100?

Ray Brown inducted into the H.O.F., doesn't he retire after a few seasons?

Game is to boring and just eats up hours with little reward. I stopped playing and found myself asking these ?'s.

1. Why do you have to tell your scouting director who to scout at the combine? Scout EVERY FREAKIN' PLAYER YOU SEE!!! Nothing like having your scouting director tell you I wasn't paying attention to that player on draft day.

2. Why do have to send your scout to scout potential FA's? Do you not have film of the player since he's been in the NFL. You have no idea about the players ability unless they are on your team. Sad to think that right now Joe Gibbs doesn't have a clue about the Dallass roster, yup that's realistic.

3. Al Saunders has a 95 ranking, and rightfully so, but Gregg Williams a 59 WTF? Good job by EA recognizing the best defensive mind in football.

4. Do you do anything during office hours? I mean there is nothing to do but look around the office, then what's up with the 2 hours out of your schedule to pick clothes, yeah that's really freakin' important to the outcome of a team picking which freakin' jacket you're going to wear on cold days.

5. How come the Redskins owner looks like Burt Reynolds from Boggie Nights? I actually find that pretty cool and amusing lets call that Man Law.

Overall great concept by EA but poorly executed. Game will probably improve with next year's verison but this game is just way to boring and time consuming. Unless of course everybody thinks Joe Gibbs sits in his office for two hours spinning in his chair because those are his office hours, then spends two hours of his day figuring out which pants to wear on to the practice field. Game capture's nothing about the life of an NFL Head Coach when it comes to free time and prep work. Practice's and games maybe a different story but I don't have the time to find out.

:dallasuck :gaintsuck :eaglesuck

I felt so bad about taking Joe Gibbs job that I set up an interview with him and hired him back. I might go coach the Texans because the Redskins without Gibbs as HC is just not right.

I play Madden on Playstation 2 & I was wondering, is the game for Xbox that much different then Playstation 2? I mean I have played my franchise mode up to 30 seasons & I didnt see any hall of fame inductions or such....plus Gibbs retired after 3 seasons, came back again after 3 more seasons, I hired him back, of course, and after winning one more Super Bowl retired from the game for good giving him a total of 7 Super Bowls, so how did you get 33 of them???

Just wondering.

I kind of like the game one my few compliants about the game . It is too time consuming they could have cut down on some of the stuff. It's really a thinking man's game to see if you have what it takes to be a head coach. If you have the patience for it you might want to check it out. But if you want the game to do everything for you like Madden . You can forgetabout it, I do not see how anyone can really compare the two. Do not get me wrong I love the Madden series as much as the next guy do but ifyou go in to this thinking. It's like Madden you will be highly disappointed.
