visionary
Thing is, F-Henry said earlier that the leader would kill him. While F-Henry may be higher up than any of the others we've met, he still may only be a lieutenant. How deep does the rabbit hole go?Who is Liddy? Liddy is a diminuative for Elizabeth. So was that Libby who had the boat, I thought so, but I wasn't sure.
Darth Tater
So was that Libby who had the boat, I thought so, but I wasn't sure. I'll watch it again tomorrow but yes. It may be a red herring but she also was the one who was tracking Hugo and the Liddy/Libby play is pretty obvious. It may also be a storyline they have to cut short because of the actress's other obligations.
Mooka
That was an excellent episode, even if they didn't give a lot of answers. Earlier in the show, when they were on a Desmond flashback and he was about to go running and ran into his GF, was it me or did the guy they showed running up the stairs look like Jack. "I don't know if anyone mentioned it(probably did) since I just got to the computer, but that statue foot they found is from the Colossus or Rhodes, which only had 4 toes on it's left foot. Thing us, modern scientists have never found the left foot, we only know about it through historic texts." I don't know about this. There is nothing left of the Colossus; modern scientists havn't found anything. I don't see how anyone could know if the original statue had 4 toes either, unless there is some ancient text that describes the number of toes in detail. jrockster21
The whole season and i we know now is that the numbers actually do something. Man, they really know how to string us along. so many questions now. Isn't her last name the same name as the guys who own the building where the Hanso Foundation HQ is?Wasn't it her daddy that set up the race that Desmond was in? This is why I HATE TV!!!! Goddamn leaving me on the edge of my friggn' seat for friggin' months!! IF THE DAGGONE OFFSEASON WASN'T BAD ENOUGH ALREADY!!! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:   :finger:  Props to those who called Henry as the leader. I didn't think that would be the case, although it was an intriguing possibility. A few observations I've made (pardon me if some are obvious or have alreay been stated, and if they're out of order -- I'm thinking aloud! ): - It is clear now that the Pearl was the experiment, especially seeing as how the tube went to nowhere. It is also clear that the experiment has been abandoned for some time, after seeing the amount of tubes laying outside. - I also think the entire virus thing was a red-herring, initially installed by the Hanso people so that the original people on the island wouldn't get to nosy and explore the entire island. I think Desmond's partner probably ripped his suit on accident, realized nothing was happening to him, and then started exploring. He probably donned the suit to rescue Desmond so that he thought the virus was real. It worked for awhile... - We didn't get the entire story of Michael and the others. They said to bring himself and the list-losties back to them at the huts, but that's not where they ended up. Somehow he either got a warning to take them to a new location, or they told him that "off-camera" so to speak. - My first instinct when I saw Charlie after the explosion was that it wasn't actually him. I had in the back of my mind the good twin/bad twin stuff, so I'm not totally sure, but that was my first instinct. This leads me to my crazy Lost theory: - The major experiment going on on the island is cloning. This would explain why Claire came back with no memory...possibly a side-effect of the process, or the new Claire is a clone of the old Claire. Cloning humans would also be something top-secret enough to have to hide from the rest of the world. And Hanso's website is always talking about a "better tomorrow;" what better than eliminating death? And the site might have been chosen because of the powerful electromagnetic field there...maybe the process needs a lot of energy. (EDIT: looking at thehansofoundation.org, there is human genome research and life-extension research projects that are ongoing...) So I think when they kidnapped Charlie, Ethan took his DNA and they cloned him. When he died in the explosion, they sent in the cloned version of him. The only problem with this theory is that it means Eko and Locke are dead, which I don't like at all! But the door on the hatch got blown to crap, so that explosion had to be huge. And Charlie showed up pretty fast after the explosion...:whoknows: - Crazy theory #2: The island is actually an alternate dimension, accessible through a wormhole of sorts. The Hanso foundation somehow located or maybe even caused this tear in time-space, and started experimenting. The electromagnetic thing is maybe how they found it, or how they keep the wormhole open, or how they contained it. Maybe when the countdown goes to zero and the charge builds up to strong, a massive wormhole is opened, and anything flying by (say....a plane) is sucked in. Maybe by sending Michael towards that specific heading, they were sending him to a known wormhole that would get him back to reality. The reason I had this theory was because Henry said Mike would never make it back if he tried. :whoknows: So there are my two crazy theories...I will probably come up with more later. Sorry for the uber-long post... Also, I agree with the general sentiment that Desmond's girlfriend is trying to find him. Possibly she is Persephone (Penny could be a nickname for Persephone??), and has stolen select documents from her father and his associates, enough to know that he is located on an island with strong electromagnetism. I'm not sure how the father would have sent Desmond there...that doesn't make much sense. How could he control the weather??? :whoknows:

Dexter's Better
What about sailing out at 325 degree's to get rescued? Mr. S
anyone figure out the hanso foundation website yet, the new clue or whatever? The clone idea is a possibility, Charlie seemed rather nonchalant about the whole thing upon his return. I don't think they cloned Claire though cause she only forgot those few weeks they were on the island, and remembered them later in flashbacks. jrockster21
anyone figure out the hanso foundation website yet, the new clue or whatever? Highlight for answers: The new password is 'inmate asylum' which is obtained from grey words on the job listings on hansocareers.com. I had to cheat, because I couldn't see any "grey words," but whatever...I don't care!! Anyway, go to the Executives section of thehansofoundation.org, and you can log in using any username and 'inmate asylum' as the password.
Fatty P For The Pulitzer
Wow, that was a great finale. In true Lost fashion, tons of new questions raised, and I thought they did a good job answering old ones. I'm not sure that the self-destuct key that Desmond flipped led to an explosion. I think it was some kind of EMP blast that destroyed the electromagnet and fried any electronics nearby. We never saw any kind of explosion, just the loud noise and the sky changing colors. This would mean Locke and Eko, and probably Desmond, are still alive. I hope Desmond is alive, there's a lot they can do with him still. I also think that Penny (short for Penelope, not Persephone) found out that Desmond was near some electromagnetic experiment through her dad, whether she forced him to tell or she snooped around his office. I think the dad set up the race around the world to get Desmond to that island, and that Libby was in on it. She seems to be some kind of "recruiter" for the Dharma Initiative. Also, wasn't Widmore the brand name for Sun's pregnancy test? I guess he made his fortune in pharmaceuticals. The first thing I thought of when I saw that big foot was the Colossus of Rhodes too (actually, the first thing I thought of was the statues of the kings in the LOTR). However, the Colossus was built out of bronze, not stone. Also, I'm not sure whether it had only 4 toes or not, but it was supposed to be built after one of the Greek gods, so it is entirely possible it could've had only 4 toes. I also think there was more to Jack and Sayid's plan, but getting hit with tranqs in that field threw it off a little. I think Michael will try to save face and look for Sayid to tell him where they are before he takes off with Walt. And I don't think fake Henry is the top of the Others' ladder, but he is clearly the leader of that group. And I wonder if the Others are "anti-Hanso" people, former test subjects who have formed a rebellion against the Hanso Foundation, and they're using the 815 survivors for their mission. Henry said they are the good guys, so I'm thinking they are implying the Hanso Foundation is the bad guys. *Also, what did Desmond call them again? When he called them that to Sayid, it sounded like they were unrelated to Dharma, since Desmond was technically part of Dharma.

And was the guy in the hatch also the guy that orders Sayid to do the interrogations? Libby being part of Hanso makes alot of sense now. I think that she might be popping up in alot of episodes next year. I thought this was a good finale. The Sonic/electromagnetic thing was a nice touch. They are setting up lots of stuff for next year. And adding the whole Penny thing, brings in the fact that they are going to try to find these guys. Because I had a feeling they are not going to get off the island by themselves.

Fatty P For The Pulitzer
And was the guy in the hatch also the guy that orders Sayid to do the interrogations? Yeah, he was the military guy who forced Sayid to "interrogate" his former commander. It seems Hanso has a thing for former military people, assuming Widmore "directed" Desmond to the island. cuchip703
Everyone is so geared that it was an explosion but like someone mentioned before, it could have been just an reversal of the electromagnetic activity. codeorama
Great great great episode.... Man that was awesome.... For the record, I never meant that Henry was the TOP guy, as in, incharge of everything, but just the head guy of the others on the island... what a lucky guess...LOL. BTW, Fatty P... that's is an awesome theory about the Others being survivors of the experiments and wanting reveng on Hanso... At this point, that sounds pretty dead on, but who knows with this show. The Evil Genius
FWIW, Penelope was the wife of Odyesseus in Homer's Odyssey. She waited 20 years for the return of her husband from the Trojan War. Think the writers are throwing us a frickin bone with that name choice? Oh, and I found this little tidbit on Wikipedia... The statue stood for only 56 years until Rhodes was hit by an earthquake in 224 BC. The statue snapped at the knees and fell over onto the land. Ptolemy III offered to pay for the reconstruction of the statue, but an oracle made the Rhodians afraid that they offended Helios, and they declined to rebuild it. The remains lay on the ground for over 800 years, and even broken, they were so impressive that many travelled to see them. Pliny the Elder remarked that few people could wrap their arms around the fallen thumb and that each of its fingers was larger than most statues. In AD 654 an Arab force under Muawiyah I captured Rhodes, and according to the chronicler Theophanes, the remains were sold to a travelling salesman from Edessa. The purchaser had the statue broken down, and transported the bronze scrap on the backs of 900 camels to his home. Pieces continued to turn up for sale for years, after being found on the caravan route.and In 1989, a stone construction resembling a gigantic human fist was found in the sea of Rhodes. It was supposed that it was the first discovery of a part of the Colossus. However it was decided that it was only stone and mud debris thrown in the sea by a bulldozer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossus_of_Rhodes
Baculus
Great episode. So much, so fast, and now we have to wait months for the Season three opener! After the show, I spent hours looking and searching and found some Dharma - Hanso related websites. Here are a few sites; don't read my comments if you want to explore everything on the sites for yourselves: http://www.widmorelaboratories.com/ - This appears to be the "company" that makes the food in the hatches (among other things). Also, as someone mentioned, they made Sun's pregancy test. Linked from this site is the next page: http://www.valenzettifoundation.org/ - This site has some very interesting information, which I will let you guys explore. But, since last night when I looked at the page, it has actually changed a little bit, as far as the left-side links. Also, there are drawings of devices, and a picture of an EM-related device. There is also an interview with Gary Troup. Further linked to this site is the next page, but, in classic Lost fashion, I am not sure if it is real. I'd have to look at it more closely: http://www.bootstrap.org/augdocs/friedewald030402/augmentinghumanintellect/ahi62index.html Now, the theme I keep seeing repeated is life extension (with a linked "supplier," http://methusalabs.com/) and hints of "end of the world" type scenarios and calculations. Certain locations, such as Tanzania, keep getting repeated, including at the www.hansocareers.com website. One link is to Enrico's (the son of Enzo) favorite author's website. http://www.angelfire.com/rings/mygrandmothersbooks/ The books listed on this website had some very interesting subjects, one of which talked about this being of pure information which has plagued mankind (the "Smoke Monster" from the jungle?) Tidbits from the books: "...Deals with beings of pure information called "Valances" that wreck havoc on mankind" "A posthumous collection of published and unpublished short stories. "Forever Someday" is a novella about a man with the inexplicable gift of immortality who lives through the centuries as he watches fads come and go, friends born and die, empires rise and fall." I'll leave the rest so I don't spoil too much of everyone's exploring. Some of the other books had subjects that seem to be Lost-background related in some fashion. If I can find the link again, I will repost it unless someone does it before me. Also, at the bottom of the Valenzetti page are additional links, but most of them are red herrings...I think. One of them is linked to this page with all this data on "space weather." Also, once again, Life Extension is a repeated theme with the following book listed as an "influence" for Enzo: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1579549543/sr=8-5/qid=1144011763/ref=pd_bbs_5/002-5720275-9945623?%5Fencoding=UTF8 And, furthermore, links to the "sponsers" of the Valenzetti: http://www.bigspaceship1.org/ (Note: I just noticed the 108 number, which I believe is the total of all the numbers added together.) http://widmore.com/ Ok, that's some reading for now. Enjoy! http://globalparadigmscorp.com/
Air Force Cane
Great episode. would anyone else murder two innocent women to "save" your kid that you haven't even really seen most of his life? to me, that is abhorrent.
