PokerPacker
pierce brosnan does not play the real bond. daniel craig should do a great job. he's definatly got that brit look, and he looks like a cold-blooded killer. he looks bad-ass in the publicity shot. dreamingwolf
I never read the book, so I always assumed that Flemming decided he wanted to write a parody. I started thinking about how people have been describing the new one and I looked it up. Turned out that Flemming did get writting credits for the first one, but it sounds like movie decided to take the parody route. I thought this new one was the same way, like I said I didnt read the book so I didnt know that it was not a parody in the novel.

Larry
No, Flemming's Casino Royale is most definatly not a comedy. I don't know, but it might have been the first Bond book. It was very serious and very violent. About the only thing Woody Allen got from the book was the title and Bond's name. Trivia: Ian Flemming wrote, I think 13 James Bond novels. And Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Cool. Didn't know that.I remember watching the old Casino Royale movie and thinking it stunk. I've always been a Bond fan though.
bnacpa
that pub shot makes him look more German than British. I still think that Bond belonged to Connery and society was a bit more macho back then. The other appeal that the old movies use to have was more focus on some of the exotic locations so that you would feel as though you were traveling around the world ... such as Connery or Moore ending up in a Carnivale type atmosphere. Now they have been filming in deserts and Russia and all these old Eastern European block locations and some of these places don't look like the sort of place you would want to be. I hope they get back to the coolness of the travel, the suaveness of the dialogue and conversation, and the unbelievable babes ...
DoGood28
The trailer makes it look pretty good if you ask me. I also like the location where this movie seems to take place.

David Niven the Bond every one forgets. It was with Peter Sellers, Woody Allen and Ursula Andress (Never looked better than in this movie). Riggo-toni
This looks more like old-school Bond, which is a great thing. I thought Brosnan was the best Bond since Connery, but all the Bond films with him in it were pretty stupid. The last great Bond movie was The Living Daylights, though Timothy Dalton was a pretty lame Bond. This looks more along the lines of ruthlessness and less on ridiculous completely implausible stunts and setups.

88Comrade2000
Saw the trailer for the first time in the movie theater when watching "Da Vinci Code". Looks great. Also, I don't "Da Vinci Code" is a flop, it made $77 million this weekend. http://boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/?sortdate=2006-05-21&p=.htm Hardly a flop. Also, saw the preview for Oliver Stone's World Trade Center- looks real good.
