redskins4life234
on google It only focus soo much so close, and usually focus better in the cities (such as DC) then it does surban neighborhoods

cjcdaman
I love Google Earth, but they need to update it. Near my house is a carport which was blown away about a year and a half ago. Also, one of the golf courses I play on was an absolute mess after flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan in September 2004. It's now in great shape, but still looks like **** on Google Earth. cjcdaman
It's funny that this thread was bumped. I now live in NC and the images down here are WAYYYYY out of date. I've counted about thirty(could be 50+) houses that are in my neighborhood that do not show up on Google Earth. Right next to my house is a brand new Elementary School that started being built last year. It doesn't show up on Google Earth. OMG, I checked out local.live.com and their images are even worse! Wilmington looks like a ghost town. My Uncle's house is not even on the map and he moved here over 10 years ago!

cjcdaman
you're looking at photos taken in the 1990's Oh, well that explains it. Why do they use such outdated photos?
DeanCollins
Oh, well that explains it. Why do they use such outdated photos? those photos were probably taken by the USGS (geological survey), expensive, and they don't have a reason to take newer ones. some of the photos may be newer but most aren't. there are sites where you can pay to have realtime or nearly realtime photos directly from geo stationary sats, but expect to pay $$$. zoony
Pictures of my area are blurry and illegible with google earth. Looks like they haven't mapped it since the early 1980s. Yes, I live in BFE
TorresA
well pics of my area are older on live as well, but the 3d of a few select cities are really cool.. better than googles... but other areas the places are out of date and can't zoom in as much as google.
