blang4d
I don't know about anyone else, but I was PRAYING that we wouldn't go after T.O. I know on the field that he's one of, if not the best in the game. But with all of his off the field baggage, I think we're MUCH MUCH better off with Moss, ARE, Lloyd, Patton, etc. Anyway, I'm just curious, how long do you think it'll be before Owens becomes a cancer in the Cowboys locker room the way he was with SF, and Phily (and Baltimore without even playing there). I don't know about anyone else, but I hope it starts ASAP!!!! :dallasuck
WeownU
Another TO thread? The problem this time probably won't be because of what TO has done. It will be the constant media attention he is given. Every question to every teamate will begin and end with TO. Bill Parcells is already getting hounded with every TO question imaginable. That sort of thin can wear you down. All TO, all the time. BUt don't expect it to destroy the cowboys the way it did philly. You have to remember how his contract is structured. 3 one year deals.

You are right in the fact that the problem will be the constant media attention given to TO. This is good in that it will keep TO happy, as long as he is getting his catches. This is bad in that it will irritate the rest of the team. The team will tolerate it as long as TO is getting his catches (and they are winning). See how that works? I do expect it to destroy the Cowboys the way it did Philly. Luckily, you get one year before that happens. Of course then, TO will be 34, which even for a guy in as good a shape as TO, is getting up there. Man, im already tired of talking about TO. I cant imagine how Terry Glenn is going to feel in about 6 months.
Monkskin81
Can anyone tell me where T.O. stands on all-time record such as receptions, yards, yards per catch, touchdowns etc. I'm interested to see how far back he is or isn't in regards to Jerry Rice, Steve Largent and other Hall of Famers... Any info would be appreciated.
skinsn24
Gotta love talking about TO as much as possible. Unless he doesnt get the ball, i dont see him blowing up. He knows this may be his last shot with a real contract

Chris Carter is 2nd w/ 130 and TO has 4th place with 103. 3rd place is Marvin Harrison, and I dont see him slowing down either.
WeownU
Man, im already tired of talking about TO. I cant imagine how Terry Glenn is going to feel in about 6 months. I don't think Terry Glenn cares one way or the other. I don't think anyone on the team cares if TO got all the press. We don't have many egomaniacs on the team. Now Parcells has a real short fuse though. He will get sick of listening to all the questions, trust me. I expect him to take care of such things like he always does though, treat the reporter like dirt, and they won't say anything.

I expect him to take care of such things like he always does though, treat the reporter like dirt, and they won't say anything. Dont kid yourself. Every pro football team has its egomaniacs. The Skins just jettisoned one and still have several left. These are 20 something year olds making millions of dollars. They all have their ambitions. They all have their entourages. They all want the pub. Make no mistake about this. The first time Julius Jones runs for 150 yards and 2 scores and there are no reporters in front of his locker, cracks are going to form. The only thing that will keep the cracks from becoming earthquakes is a steady diet of W's. If you dont understand this, you need to take your TO blinders off. It kind of like Clinton Portis and his crazy costumes. He does it because he knows he'll get on SportsCenter, NFL Total Access, etc. Its all about media attention. Luckily for Skins fans, its funny and light and is teammates love it, hell, he even includes them. TO's way to get pub while he is on a team is to call out his QB and coaching staff, explode on the sidelines, and his endzone celebrations and once he gets booted, he's gonna do some crunches in his front yard. No_Pressure
There are negative and positive ego-maniacs. Players like Portis are positive, they dont trash their team. Glenn isnt an ego-maniac and if he was he would be a positive kind, I have never seen him say anything bad about his team, other players, etc. T.O. is a negative ego-maniac, he is replacing another one in Meshawn. Outside of T.O. the Cowboys usually have generally quiet guys, or at least players that are as loud as a skins player to the press. The biggest collection of egos in the NFL could be on the Falcons, the Raiders, or the Bengals...who knows.
