Hicks contacted by teams

Once last weekend's NFL draft was completed, the fun really started for former Bartlesville High/University of Arkansas tight end Jared Hicks.

Although Hicks went undrafted, his agent is in the process of negogiating with two teams interested in having him work out at their free agent mini-camps, Hicks' father Curtis said Monday night.

The Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers both have made invitations.

A decision should be made as to which direction to go by the middle of this week, Curtis Hicks added.

Jared (6-6, 280) completed his four years of eligibility last year at Arkansas.

During his five years in the program, which included one redshirt season, Hicks saw major playing time as both a blocking and pass-catching tight end

We could definitely use some depth at TE, but probably only on the practice squad level - but a guy in his position probably would be cool with that. The practice squad ends up really being a good deal for certain guys....
