Just heard Gibbs on sport the local comcast "sportsnite"

he said that sean taylor spoke highly of rocky prior to the draft

i found that interesting, that gibbs (the team) thinks so highly of sean

so glad we got him as opposed to winslow, hes the most exciting redskin ive ever followed

I think it's great that they have first hand knowledge of him as a player. I'm sure playing with the guy gives them (especially Taylor) a good feel for what he can do. I'm glad Gibbs seems to have an open door to his players and/or asks for their input. It's that type of relationship that gives him the respect of the players. All that said, I'm sure that the FO must have been pretty excited about Rocky too, talking to guys like Taylor is just a natural step if you think you see something in a guy...

I really thought we were going to take Maxey (CB from the U) in the 5th, I was pissed when the Chiefs took him right after we selected that big fat DT.
he was a steal for the uh...forgot who took him...but he was a steal....sigh....

Obviously Gibbs is going to find something/someway to tie Rocky as a more likeable "Redskin." (referring to Taylor, Portis and Moss's approval) It was a big move to go up and grab him moving up 18 spots. He has some big shoes to fill though...especially when we will see those shoes twice a year(against NY). Overall I like the pick, hopefully his "good test grades"(high wonderlick scores) means that he is smart enough to learn William's and Dale Lindsey's gameplans. Does anyone know how he did on the wonderlick?? Also I personally want to give a thank you to the silly Jets who, for some reason, are always so eager to help us out!

Don't be suprised if that "Big Fat Defensive Tackle" is starting next to Cornelius Griffin in a few years. Also Don't be suprised if Marcus Maxey is out of the league in a few years either.lol...
