Washington Redskins

Best Pick: None.

The Skins only had one Day One selection, and they reached on a linebacker.

Worst Pick: Rocky McIntosh, OLB, Miami. 2nd Rd(35)

McIntosh is a solid player, but not just outside the first round.

Second Day Steal: Kedric Golston, DT, Georgia. 6th Rd(196)

Golston has all the talent to develop, but needs a lot of refinement to see the field.

Overall: F. The Skins had a terrible draft. Only one player selected on Day One, and they reached to fill a need. On Day Two, they landed nothing of note. The worst drafting team this year.

Philadelphia Eagles

Best Pick: Winston Justice, OT, USC. 2nd Rd(39)

Worst Pick: Chris Gocong, DE, Cal Poly SLO. 3rd Rd(71)

Not a terrible pick, but a slight reach. Almost the pick by default because the Eagles had an excellent Day One.

Second Day Steal: Max Jean-Gilles, G, Georgia. 4th Rd(99)

All year long, Jean-Gilles was the top guard in the draft. Then he checked in over 355 and slid a bit. If he keeps his weight in check, this is a major steal for the Eagles.

Overall: A-. The Eagles landed two players that slid a bit, and both should provide outstanding upside. Bunkley should start inside at DT immediately, and Justice is a steal in the second, who has the potential to be a standout LT. Max Jean-Gilles on Day Two was a great pick, and could team with Justice and Shawn Andrews to give the Eagles a powerful young OLine.

New York Giants

Best Pick: Sinorice Moss, WR, Miami. 2nd Rd(44)

Moss gives them a playmaking threat at WR that they lack, and was excellent value.

Worst Pick: Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College. 1st Rd(32)

This was one of the more senseless picks. The Giants have two great DE's, and a youngster that showed promise last year. Kiwanuka is a project, and does not fill a need.

Second Day Steal: Barry Cofield, DT, Northwestern. 4th Rd(124)

Cofield is not a guy that is going to make too many plays, but he will plug the run and open up others to make plays.

Overall: B-. After landing a slew of DB's and LaVar Arrington in free agency, the had a little more freedom in their selections. Going for a 4th defensive end in the first round was one of the more puzzling picks of Day One.

Dallas Cowboys

Best Pick: Anthony Fasano, TE, Notre Dame. 2nd Rd(53)

Bit of a reach, but for a team that wants to run a two TE set, they needed an all around second option. This was their only solid Day One selection.

Worst Pick: Bobby Carpenter, LB, Ohio St. 1st Rd(18)

Carpenter just was not worth a Top 20 selection, and better players were available.

Second Day Steal: Pat Watkins, S, Florida St. Rd 5(138)

Watkins is a jumbo(6'5) free safety, and his centerfield skills are a perfect compliment to Roy Williams.

Overall: D+. The Cowboys just seemed to reach all over the place. Carpenter is a solid player, but not worth the pick they used on him. Fasano is solid, but was a slight reach himself. Jason Hatcher in the third round was a reach, and a project.

What a tool...by definition we have to have a best pick.

Worst Pick: Rocky McIntosh, OLB, Miami. 2nd Rd(35)

McIntosh is a solid player, but not just outside the first round.

I don't get why this is even a big deal. There was a run on linebackers, so we moved up to nab him. What if Green Bay (who OLB is a need for) wanted him at 36?? They traded down after we snagged him...he might have been picked had we waited. NFL.com has him rated higher than Carpenter!! But the most important thing is that this is who they were targeting, and they got their man. 35 or 45 or 53, it doesn't really matter.

Overall: F. The Skins had a terrible draft. Only one player selected on Day One, and they reached to fill a need. On Day Two, they landed nothing of note. The worst drafting team this year.

Pure hate. You should rank a draft by the picks made, not the lack of picks. Somebody tell this douchebag that there are different personnell strategies in the NFL...

Football Futures is incredibly lucky to have a draft expert smarter than both Joe Gibbs and Bill Parcells. How much are they paying this guy? Whatever it is, it's not enough.

I am not a big smiley guy. But that post really made me laugh. Great job. And my sentiments exactly.

 Look at what this tool wrote for Green Bay:

Worst Pick: Jason Spitz, C, Louisville. 3rd Rd(75)

He's tough, but lacks the physical talent to be a Day One pick.

Overall: B+. The Packers had a ton of picks, and did a very good job landing talent. They didn't reach and landed good value with each of their first four picks.

Wait, so Spitz lacks the talent to be a day one pick, but Green Bay didn't reach??

Also, they mention that Seattle's third rounder went to Minnesota for Burleson, which was a "solid move." But no mention of us getting Brandon Lloyd!!

Worst Pick: None

The Seahawks only had two picks on the first day, and landed two solid players in the first and second. Their third rounder went to Minnesota for Nate Burleson, another solid move.

This guy is a moron.

Here's Mr. cluster f*&k's analysis of our "reach":

Roger "Rocky" McIntosh LB 6'2 237 Miami

By: Robert Davis

Rocky McIntosh made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2002, and looked to be the next great 'Cane linebacker. As a freshman he posted 43 tackles, with eight of them coming for loss. As a sophomore though he was slowed by a knee injury and lost his job. Rocky came back with a vengeance as a junior. He posted career highs of 111 tackles and 13 for loss, to go with four sacks. McIntosh had another standout season as a senior, finishing with 89 tackles, 12 for loss, and 5.5 sacks.

McIntosh has all the physical tools to standout at linebacker in the NFL. He has solid size, but combines that with excellent athleticism and very good speed. He shows the ability to drop into coverage and cover backs and tight ends down the field. Rocky also shows the willingness to come up and stick his nose into traffic and bring down the ball carrier. He also shows some pass rush potential off the edge with his speed and athleticism.

From a physical standpoint, McIntosh just needs to bulk up a bit. He is 237 but carries it well and could stand to gain a bit more weight. Rocky can be taken out of plays because he does not get off blocks well, but that could be a result of his lack of weight. Even though he has quite a bit of experience, McIntosh is still raw and will need some coaching to harness all his athletic talent.

As an outside linebacker, Rocky McIntosh has shown the ability to be a difference maker in every aspect. He just needs to show more consistency in his game, and he could be a terrific NFL linebacker. McIntosh carries a Day One grade and could really develop down the line.

I think this thread clearly illustrates how the Skins will be dominated by the eagles this year.

It is no seceret that the draft has not been the Redskins best means for improving the team, I am fine with it. Last seasons Playoff run sure does take the sting away, Westbrook would know nothing about that after the eagles basement finish. Better get used to that.
