DWinzit
I was surprised there was no punter or placekicker chosen. I figured they would use a 7th rounder on a punter with a strong leg for kickoff duties as well as punting. It seemed like there was a couple who potential guys who could fill this role. SaltySpice1028
i wanted plackmeir from wake forest in the 7th really bad I completely agree. I really wanted Plackmeir. Hopefully they'll bring in a punter or two as undrafted free agents. The punter from Illinois is really good and I don't think he got drafted. rm8899
I'm with ya. Frost was killing us last year. we might as well should've went for it on 4th downs becasue his average was terrible!!
Grimm
We can still bring a good UDFA punter, Joel Stelly is still out ther http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2006/stelly_joel
terpfan
Joe wasnt lying when he said we were set there. Honestly, I thought Frost really improved over the last few games. Hopefully he can build on that next year. Here's some stats from his last 7 games, including the two playoff games. Week 13: 4 punts 42.8 AVG 1 IN20 Week 14: 5 punts 43.0 AVG 1 IN20 Week 15: 6 punts 33.5 AVG 3 IN20 Week 16: 5 punts 44.2 AVG 3 IN20 Week 17: 10 punts 41.0 AVG 1 IN20 WILD CARD: 7 punts 38.3 AVG 2 IN20 DIVISIONAL: 7 punts 42.7 AVG 1 IN20 Not bad numbers. And the two games where he had under 40 yard averages he had multiple kicks land inside the 20.

Weganator
I'm with ya. Frost was killing us last year. we might as well should've went for it on 4th downs becasue his average was terrible!! Here are some #'s for you: Att / avg yds / avg net yds (2005 season) Jeff Feagles 73 / 42.1 / 37 Sean Landetta 34 / 43.6 / 38.2 Todd Sauerbrun 72 / 43.8 / 38 Mike Scifres 71 / 43.7 / 38 Dave Zastudil 84 / 43.5 / 35.7 Derrick Frost 76 / 40.4 / 36.7 So as you can see, compared to some of the better punters in the nfl, his numbers arent that bad, and while i wouldnt mind bringing in competition, we can get by w/ him as our punter

kramdizzle
lets get someone and quick. a seventh round pick is useless so im surprised we didnt get a punter. i can imagine its a lot different punting in college as compared to the pros. we need one BAD
chiplohmillers#1
I am not a fan of drafting kickers. Look at the success rate. If you want a kicker get a proven comodity. Other wise the PK better be a complete stud.

Kaeding lost big games for the Chargers his rookie year and he was taken in the second. On the other hand Nick Novak sure looked impressive as a Redskin and he went undrafted:D
DWinzit
I'd love to see a touch back on kickoffs every once in a while. Even with are much improved special teams, the opponents seem to always be starting between the 25 and 30.

More Complete
did tupa retire? Cut. Sad to see him go. He was awesome. Turns out his back injury was a factor and he didn't start getting younger. http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/WAS/9298401
DWinzit
I was hoping they'd take a chance on Tom Malone from USC.
