Guest santana4prez
Corey Chavous was just on NFL Network and he said his 3 day 2 players who will be good players and he mentioned Anthony Montgomery as one of the 3............ then he said it was a good pick by the Chiefs. If he was smart enough to realize the Skins picked him instead of the Chiefs you know he would of talked bad about him. Media Jinx continues Peter king , Lenny P , and now Corey Chavous.

skins84
He probably just mixed up the teams on accident. Have you been watchin him these past two days? He's done a great job considering that he's a NFL player. He was talkin about guys that most people have never even heard of. He had knowledge of just about every player who's been drafted. I too was impressed by Chavous. Sadly for him, I don't think his #1 prospect (Reggie McNeal) came off the board until late, if at all. Still, he did a really solid job, and it pleases me that he singled out Montgomery as a potential steal.

scruffylookin
You know why Corey Chavous is so good? Because he works at it. He doesn't just show up to spout off nonsense from the top of his head and be a "personality" like the ESPN crowd. He offers his professional opinion while doing the needed research to keep himself informed. I guarantee you that Michael Irvin has no clue who the hell Anthony Montgomery is, who he played for and whether or not he's even been drafted. Unlike anyone associated with ESPN (except Jaws), Chavous has an opinion that actually carries some weight and insight.
dent19
He's been good through out the whole draft process. I think he gets a pass on the name game. In fact, i think he's better then most the network guys. hope he sings with skins as scout when he's done playing.

MuDDSL1DE
He seemed prepared and that he actually researched the players knowing he was gonna be covering the draft. Unlike most of the people that cover the draft who say the same cliche' comments about all the players that are drafted in the later rounds. :2cents:
spanishomelette
His case with all those player excerpt DVDs that he edited together...that was impressive also. NFL Network is doing alright.
TD Riggo
I thought he did a pretty good job! He's given two days, eight-plus hours straight per day of solid coverage! I think it's petty to fault him of making an occasional mistake. Contrast this to Sean Salisbury for instance, who does a half hour, highly scripted show, and STILL can't get it right! I too was impressed that with his preparation, including that impressive case of DVD's, he was able to say something knowledgable about some 250+ players! I didn't even bother with ESPN! I couldn't stand to listen to Mel Kiper (who the HELL is this guy?!), or especially Michael "My Neck Vein Is Going to Pop" Irvin!
terpfan
I wasnt watching NFL Network doing the draft (I would have been but the TV I was watching doesnt have it) I normally dont like most of their analysts (Terrell Davis, Rod Woodson, Lincoln Kennedy... bleck) but if Chavous even knows who Montgomery is I'd be very impressed. I had never heard of him before we picked him. I can tell you that.
CPstretch
i like that we hung low in this draft with all the headlines. we quietly had a decent draft and filled some holes. let the other teams make the headlines.
MumboSauce
Chavous does a good job in my opinion...the few times I've heard him I was impressed with his the amount of detail, analysis and insight he's given. He does his homework.
feeshta
Well it was one of those native american teams, right? LOL! It happens to the best of us. I for instance once accidentally switched the first sylables in the name of the restaurant Fud Ruckers in front of my Mom. Not a good idea. LOL! Jaron
Chavous is known to be a draft guru of sorts. He is really into the draft and spends a ton of time researching all the college players after the NFL season is over. That's why he is invited to be one of the analysts every year; because he actually knows what he's talking about unlike the majority of the people on ESPN. Chavous has been on the ESPN radio and occassionally on tv leading up to the draft for a few years now. He definitely does his homework. He wants to do this fulltime when his playing career is over. Good work Corey. You can be a scout for us anyday. :2cents:
Guest santana4prez
I like Chavous and think he is on his way up. He does do alot of homework and knows his players. Im just pissed the first time he really screws up its a Redskin player. I also think he is a a up and coming draft guy but having Reggie McNeal this year at #1 overall and Seneca Wallace at #1 overall the other year is just dum.
