Spartacus87
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-titans-mcnair&prov=ap&type=lgns NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Steve McNair's tenure with the Tennessee Titans could be over within the next 24 hours. His agent said Sunday the team is considering releasing McNair or possibly trading him to the Baltimore Ravens. "We could have something worked out later today or tomorrow," agent Bus Cook said. "We're working on some things." The Titans drafted Texas quarterback Vince Young with the No. 3 overall pick Saturday as McNair's successor, and they already were looking for a way to reduce or shed the $23.46 million salary cap number the co-MVP of 2003 is scheduled to count for in 2006. The era of Vince Young starting sooner rather than later?

ECU-ALUM
After all he has done for that franchise (restructuring his contract numerous times) and all the injuries he played through....I hope he gets another shot at the playoffs.

ECU-ALUM
with ravens? would gibbs want him if we didnt have brunell? I don't know if Coach Gibbs would want him without Brunell (although it sounds like something right up his alley). Oh Lord...the Ravens...if I was McNair and heard that I'd be thinking one word, "Retirement"...the Ravens aren't merely a QB away from being a Super Bowl contender...and no way would I take being a back-up to Boller. carter23
i heard some kid talking about how awesome the ravens would be when they get McNair in one of my classes... all i could think of was that he wasn't the missing piece and he's basically a one-two year stopgap

bulldog
McNair at 75% would be better than all the qbs the Ravens have had since Billick joined the team in 1999
H-O-G
If the Ravens trade anything for McNair that would be stupid. Just wait till he is released.
skinz1972
how much of a cap hit will titans take for cutting him?
DiscoBob
McNair's best option would be to renegotiate with the titans. There is no way the Titans want to have to start Young, and McNair could have several more good years there. That being said, for personal reasons, he may want to get the heck out of Dodge.... bubba9497
The Titans FO is a joke, they have lost more really good players because they can't manage the cap, they run franchise players off, and bring in over prced has beens to replace them. There drafts have been questionable as well yet no one rips them apart in the media :whoknows:

There drafts have been questionable as wellyet no one rips them apart in the media :whoknows: i'll give you the cap management part, but drafting? i dunno about that. i'm pretty sure a good # of these "franchise players" they've "run off" were drafted. i can understand the cap problems since they thought they were inches away from winning the superwbowl and wanted to pay to keep the team together. :whoknows:
pvkeeper19
The first mistake the Titans made this weekend was drafting Vince Young over Matt Leinart. The next one was driving McNair out of town. The one they make next January will be firing Jeff Fisher. It seems like everyone except the Titans can see that their philosophy has condemned them to be NFL bottom-dwellers for the next few years at least. carlsbadd
What I don't understand is that the Titans are always in cap hell, I mean true cap hell, they have blown up the roster twice in the last 5 years and now are showing McNair the door after he reworked his contract 9 ways to sunday. What a friggin mess that team is. I feel really bad for the fans there.
