blang4d
I'm curious as to how many Skins fans there are out there who's fiances/wives are fans of other teams. I'm getting married in May 07 and my fiance is a huge Ravens fan. (actual knowledgable fan, not just a "their uniforms are the cutest" fan) I'm ok with her being a Baltimore fan....but I doubt our relationship would have lasted this long if she cheered for the Cowpukes. Any advice? :dallasuck
dreamshatterer
You guys should be fine since its not a division nor a conference rivalry. Congrats BTW. I was lucky, I married a skins fan
RonBurgundy&Gold
Well, it depends on what kind of Ravens fan she is. I know plenty of Ravens fans that love to do nothing more than bash the Redskins, so naturally I beat the living crap out of them. j/k This girl I'm talking to now says shes a Skins fan and her dad has season tickets. I've been trying to quiz her slowly to see if she's really down or if she just says shes down. Last night when I was playing MLB2k6 on the 360 she had to ask me how many innings are in a baseball game, so I'm a little worried she may be full of it, lol. You should probably worry more if she asks how many innings there are in football. Can't remember the last time the Skins played in MLB.

Xameil
my gf is a Gints fan, (but she has a valid excuse...I posted what it was in a thread in Tailgate). She's not very knowledgeable about them, but she'll sit and watch a game with me. Even watch he 'skins over the gints...(yes I'm trying to convert her). It's ok though since she's also a Tony Stewart fan and since he drives for JGR, I have a bridge to get her to like the 'Skins
blang4d
She actually roots for the Skins with me unless we're playing Baltimore. (I agreed to root for the Ravens vs. everyone except us) I got tix to last year's preseason game in Baltimore. After the game I was wearing my Arrington jersey and skins hat, she was in her Boller jersey and Ravens hat. Several people commented on how we must truely be in love. (P.S. She dosn't have to ask how many innings are in a football game. ha ha ha We're both big Orioles fans so she's pretty knowledgable about both sports and can keep them seperate. s0crates
My gf is a 'skins fan, but I think that might just be for my sake. I dated a Cowboys fan once. Needless to say, it didn't work out.
jb4348
Well my girlfriend is a big Steelers fan. But she also cheers for the Skins because of me. She will wear skins gear when I have people over to watch a game. I am lucky that she supports the skins because of my passion for them. Congrats btw HTTR
Donita35
You should probably worry more if she asks how many innings there are in football. Can't remember the last time the Skins played in MLB. Too funny   Well, let me respond from another perspective. In other words from the fiance/wife. I think that it could be a good thing especially if when you are having discussions and she is less informed that you break things down without being a "show off" or "know-it-all." That is the main problem with me and my significant other who is a Cowboys fan whose from Philly. (Go figure)! Anywho, every now and then, especially during football season, I have to make myself "unavailable" because he has pissed me off but some how I forgive him and here we are. But I will say this, knowledgeable female fans want to be treated as such. Not like "oh there she goes talking again."
jrmooref
How could you marry a Ravens fan? Thats gross. I hope everytime you have sex you dont think of Siragusa or something. :puke: I guess some people just have lower standards than the rest of us. :ravensuck
ChiefPowhatan17
My wife is a Barcelona FC fan, first and foremost. But, then she likes the Panthers, which is OK cause she did live in Charlotte for 8 years. But, since she is from Spain I give her space alittle cause I am really trying to make her a football fan more than a soccer fan. She is now enjoying the Redskins since we were winning last season. Plus she went with me to the Giants game and experienced that first hand. Give me a few more years and she will be like Carolina who?:logo: :logo: :logo:

themurf
My wife didn't care about football until I brainwashed her. Now her and my brother are sharing my second season ticket this year. To tell you how far she's come along, we were married last year on Nov. 26. We went to the Redskins-Chargers game the next day AND THEN went on our honeymoon to the Virgin Islands after the game. It's not every day you find a woman willing to delay her own honeymoon to enjoy a 'Skins game on her first day of wedded bliss.
Santana_Fan
my gf is a fan of our worse rival! But it also makes it just much more fun to watch, just to see her face at last year's week 2 game , and the 2nd game. After we beat down the Cowboys enough, she might change her mind.
JKS1414
My wife is and always has been a Skins fan so no problem there. Actually, my girlfriend before her when I still lived in Florida was also a Skins fan.....not really sure how I lucked out twice but I'll take it!!! :dallasuck :eaglesuck :gaintsuck
Fergie829
While true, it just seems like if you're in the know about sports at all, you should know how many innings there are in a baseball game. As a female, I consider myself a fairly knowledgeable sports fan (at least football, baseball and possibly basketball), but as for other sports I don't have a clue and could care less. You couldn't me pay enough to go to a hockey game or soccer for that matter. Congratulations by the way.

flexxskins
blang4d, first of all, congrats on your up and coming nuptials. Also, congrats on finding a woman that knows football and enjoys it. Not everyone is that lucky. My best friend married a woman who hates football altogether and now we don't even get together for games or anything. In my case, I really lucked out. I moved to NJ from MD about 9 years ago and I would frequent a local sports bar so that I could see the Redskins play every week. Well, one of those weeks I saw a little hottie at the bar, watching Dallas play with some college friends of hers. (She says that she has never been a Dallas fan and has never really had a favorite team.) One thing led to another and before you know it, we are living together a few months later and she is rooting for the Redskins like crazy every week. When we bought a house together, for my birthday, she purchased the DIRECTV set up for me, along with the NFL Season Ticket. Needless to say, she is my wife today. Redskin44
My wife was a Colts fan until probably the playoffs this year. Here's what you do.... First purchase her a Redskins jersey. Make sure the player is good looking. Second BEG her to put it on. Next tell her that you have never seen her look so darn Sexy. She will start wearing the jersey to look good for you. Before you know it, she is wearing it on game day. Next she'll begin asking questions about redskins players. Then you must take her to a game. After that, it was history for me. Now she wants to go to at least one game a year. And since I live in Nebraska, this is a big deal. I'm curious as to how many Skins fans there are out there who's fiances/wives are fans of other teams. I'm getting married in May 07 and my fiance is a huge Ravens fan. Friend of the Devil
I am proud to say I have recently converted my fiance (who was once an eagles fan by association) to a skins fan. It only took a year and a half of verbally assaulting the birds for this to occur. The ring came soon after the conversion.:logo:

I didn't tell he looked sexy, but I did tell him it made me HOT!) Now 10 years later, he buys me Redskins tickets for my birthday (we're in Kentucky) and follows the team almost as closely as I do. This year I got the Bengals preseason game, The Indy game AND the Cowboys game. It's true love!!
Loxley
Buy her a redskins wedding present, tell her you took a knock on the head at your stag night (i think you guys call them a bachelor party) and say youve developed colourblindness in one eye, and that eye is dominant. Therefore you went to a store and bought the wrong damn jersey, but you still love her all the same. Just dont tell her it was at the redskins store, also keep the receipt for her and tell her you dont want to give it to her as then shed know how much the present was worth and you could never have that. Sorted.
Cskin
My fiancee does not care for sports.... but she realizes how important they are to me. She knows Sundays are for Redskin football and Nascar racing. She calls and asks how the Redskins did... I've even got her wearing a Redskin hat occasionally and some totally hot Redskin PJs. She even asks where my favorite driver, was Bobby Labonte and now Denny Hamlin, finished in the race.
