Scrimmage
Who is the best talent out there on other teams that might be a roster casuality as a result of this weekend's linebacker draft? The media consensus says that this draft is deep in linebackers, esp. outside linebackers, because even apart from the candidates for the first two rounds at OLB (Hawk, Sims, Greenway, Lawson, Carpenter, Ryans, Howard, McIntosh), there are the two ILBs who could move outside (D'Q Jackson and Hodge) and the DE/LBs who could play OLB (Wimbley and Lawson). EVEN IF the Skins DON'T pick one of those guys at No. 53, up to 12 other teams could be doing so ... or at least those 12 guys seems to be a position to outcompete some good existing linebackers around the league. If Joe Gibbs and co. go for depth in the O-line or secondary with the "best athelete" available at No. 53, who else out there would be the Skins best pick up candidates either b/c they are still unsigned free agents or cut b/c of the combo of salary & outcompetition by the new guy? Also, until training camp, the only starting linebackers seem to be Washington and Marshall (who can move outside), so I'm thinking that there might be someone out there besides these draft candidates to compete with K.Campbell/McCune/C. Clemons/Holdman to win one of up to open starting positions (depending on 3-4/4-3).
Kurd Cudins
There have been a couple threads started about the most prominent one, Donnie Edwards. He is aging @ 33 but has put up HUGE #'s in recent years and has a knack for making plays. Depending on what we do in the draft and his contract demands, we could be in the Edwards sweepstakes. I am sure he wants to finish out his career with a winning franchise and a shot at the super bowl.:helmet:
heatman28
I still say this is not a serious need and we have talent on the roster to fill the void. Clemons, Campbell and McCune are three just to mention a few.
KirkNC
Sykes. Do not forget about Sykes he could make a real move this summer on the LB depth chart.

My sleeper pick, who no one is talking about us getting is... Rod Wright DT Texas 6'5 300... guy has 1st round talent, and was believed to be one, but hasnt put up the "numbers". KingGibbs
I still say this is not a serious need and we have talent on the roster to fill the void. Clemons, Campbell and McCune are three just to mention a few. Are you kidding me? If that was the case than why is it so heavily discussed? I am not comfortable with any of those as our starting WLB. Clemons will remain as a pass rushing specialist, Campbell and McCune are big question marks and if Holdman is our starting WLB opposing RB's are going to be salivating. People say we don't have many areas of need. I see two glaring needs and they are LB and DB. LB for obvious reasons and DB due to health issues and a major dropoff after Springs and Rogers. :2cents:
Gregpeck99
I heard that Wright had a good sophmore year then tailed off ... he lacks fire in his belly ... I rather gamble on Kyle Williams from LSU ... the guy is a classic overacheiver, never quits and eats rusty nails for snacks.
