I don't think he was ever suspended for a year I know he did "retire" for a year though.

That is true...he just served the 4 game suspension at the beginning of last season....

Seriously though...what else does he have to do to get kicked out? Smoke a blunt on the 50 yd line??

Just another example of someone who was given a gift, and instead decides to take the hard road in life. I have a homeless woman who sleeps near my work and this woman had a man, who for over a year would come down to the bus station, begging his wife to come home, with the only stipulation that she get drug treatment. Instead she would rather live among the homeless vagrants of our area, geting high, drunk, whatever, and send her husband home alone every night, while she enjoys her intoxicated moments. Her husband finally gave up, stopped coming down every night trying to beg her to come home. I havent seen him in well over a year, and Im happy about that. He deserved better. But I still see her nasty, sorry excuse for a person, climbing back into the woods to go tie one on. It is a shame to see people like that. Ricky is no different then this woman I have described, I guess you could consider the NFL the equivilent to her husband.

Oh, for god's sake-- LAY OFF THE WEED, RICKY! What, did you think they wouldn't test you? You're willing to throw away a chance to play pro football and make millions in the process cause you can't restrict your habits? Poor Dolphins. He's been jerking that organization around for years...

On a related note, Ricky's a mean of means. Couldn't he find a way to pass the test? Find a clean donor? Drink tons water? Check out the ads in High Times? I mean, if high school kids can fake these tests on a regular basis, even random tests, why can't he?

I thought it wasn't the chronic this time?

Haha, opps. I think you're right. The story on espn.com says that several sources say this time it wasn't mary jane, only a "substance banned by the league." But regardless, as you said, Ricky's gotta know he's gonna be tested every which way the league can do it. Poor, dumb SOB...

It wasn't weed. Looks like it was a mistake and when you are being tested 10 times a month you're odds of being caught for a simple mistake go up big time. From all I've heard from the Dolphins this guy was a model player. Sad story.
