NASMTrainer
LOL, today I went and got my new Md tags for the truck. OMG $545.50 later. It was $90 for the wife and I to get lisence and $78 for the inspection. They better put that money to good use. On a positive note, all setteled in in the new home outside of Salisbury. Lovin' it here so far. Course, I hated Upstate NY anyway so any place is better really.

bofluid
If you read the first sentence he states he also got tags for his truck. I'd assume that's where his total comes from.
Slateman
Ok $90 for you, $90 for the wife, $78 for your car, $78 for the wife's car comes to $336. Tags cost $118.50!?!?!?!?!
Gallntfox
In MD....we call it the MVA instead of the DMV.... And since he was coming from out of state there is a chance that he would have had to pay sales tax as well depending on what the tax was in the state he came from. And yes...2 year tags for a car are $128 and truck tags will run you more depending on the gross vehicle weight. I hope the $78 safety inspection was for both cars or you got hosed. dreamingwolf
I wouldnt complain so much about your car inspection cost unless you change cars alot, Va has to pay 20 bucks a year for inspection you guys just do it once. So if you keep your car more than 4 years you are skating cleaner than us. thats not even counting the emission charges.

CrypticVillain
Man all DMVs suck. How much insurance you paying? That is the question. I am 17 I live in DC and have a truck. Add that to my moms insurance and it is too much. Then you add the gas and that makes me wanna .
NASMTrainer
Ok, I'll explain. The $545 was for the tags and a 1% tax I had to pay on my truck. The lisence was $45 a piece, the inspection was $78 which is a 1 time deal so that's no big deal. Of the $545, the plates were $200, the rest was the tax. MVA/DMV, it's all the same

When I was 19 I was looking at buying a car I was checking out a used Mitshubishi sports car and my insurance would have cost 4,000 a year. Now I pay 670 a year on a brand new Tacoma 4x4.
