Oldskool
Titans | Price would be costly to part ways with A. Jones Sat, 22 Apr 2006 06:49:59 -0700 Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports the price would be high for the Tennessee Titans to cut ties with CB Adam Jones. He now has $15.1 million in guaranteed money as part of the contract he agreed to with the team last August. Last month, the team executed a $5.63 million option bonus that added a fifth year to the deal (2009), and with it Jones now has guaranteed base salaries of $842,500 (in 2006), $1.29 million (in 2007) and $1.74 million (in 2008). His salary of $2.19 million in 2009 is the only one that's not guaranteed. Last fall, the team paid him a $2 million signing bonus, along with a $1.57 million roster bonus. Wow what a horrible pick he would have been. I'm so glad that Tennessee saved us from ourselves.

H-O-G
If Pacman fell to us, we would have taken him don't even try to play it off cool...
Skins4481
We were interested in him but I dont know why. He is really short(which I really dislike in CBs) and he is not as physical as Rogers. Rogers is the best CB from that draft and Im surprised he fell to us. He did win the Thorpe award(given to the best DB in College football). Mr. S
If Pacman fell to us, we would have taken him don't even try to play it off cool... we woulda if Rogers or Rolle werent available. You think Williams would like another short corner after losing Smoot?
Skins11
Wow. Cut a guy picked really high only after his rookie season? Ouch... huge cap hit there. I highly doubt we would have picked Jones even if we happened to be available.
SkinsNeverDie
So much potential gone to waste. I remember a lot of people being high on him too. I was, until i realized he was an idiot after hmm...his first game as a Titan.
bulldog
I never understood the love for Jones. He is 5'7 and a liability in a league where receivers regularly come in at over 6'0 and 200. His main asset was his 4.3 speed, but you don't take a guy in the top 10 to return kicks. The truth is that Carlos Rogers was the far more polished corner coming out of school and had the size and strength to be an impact player in the NFL. Tennessee fell in love with one skill but ignored the balance of the overall package. Just like other teams do with guys who do a certain number of bench presses or clean/jerks at the combines or workouts. Or how high a guy can jump. Silly. It is much more important to evaluate how a guy plays the game

Redskin44
You cannot compare the two that way. Green had a the gift of flat out speed and acceleration. Mrs. Pacman did not. I guess you didn't like Darrell Green.
kappaluvacee
If Pacman fell to us, we would have taken him don't even try to play it off cool... I disagree. After the draft Vinny and Joe both said that Carlos was the highest rated CB on their scorecard. They were actually hoping the other teams didn't have him rated higher like they did. They also said Campbell was rated much higher than one of the QB's that went before him. They didn't name the QB, but they did make the statement. I don't think Pacman was ever their guy. When they didn't match Smoot, they already had their sites set on one of the corners in the draft. Understanding Gibbs courtship with Campbell and only a simple visit with Rogers, I have to believe that they were already sold on Rogers and doing their homework on Campbell once they knew they could execute the trade with Denver. Skins4481
I guess you didn't like Darrell Green. I dont know if I should be admitting to this but....... no not really. I mean he was a great player but he wasnt one of my favorites. And anyone who says Green is better than Deion is just being a blind homer.

PuckDallas81
Thank god we didn't have a chance to draft Lil Jon Jr he's been geting in trouble since college in west virginia and now in tennessee, he would have been in so much more trouble if he had made it to in D.C. Bonef1de
Gregg Williams had said from day one that he needs physical corners in his style of defense. And physical is one thing that Adam is not. This guy definitely did not get off on the right foot when his teammates we're calling him out in the media during his contract holdout in training camp.
