If they overpaid for Lavar we gave Archuleta the worst contract this year  Both deals are fine though and are backloaded. Lavar comes back from his knee injury they got a steal and he will be making pro bowls for years to come.

It would actually be worth about 4.2 million a year once his 5.25 million dollar bonus is averaged over the length of the contract. That is still a good deal. peachhaze
Before yesterday, I hoped Lavar would go to a team where I could root for him to do well like Cincy or Green Bay. Now, after sigining w/ the Giants, I hope they suck. Oh, and yes, I think they overpaid for a LB who has surgery 2x on the same knee.
CPstretch
that knee and his weight are the 2 things giants fans need to worry about
ewokninja
After reading the article the thing that's clear to me is that Arrington needed to fire the Postons long ago.

Yes, but if he doesn't hit those markers it means they grossly overpaid.

bobzmuda
We still don't know if there are any other bonuses and their types and if the salaries are guaranteed. It's hard to say if they overpaid without knowing the full picture.

Tom [Giants fan]
I don't understand why you guys think his weight is going to be an issue. He is said to be in excellent shape by people who know him.
edgun88
He is only guarenteed $18 mil, and you know he's not going to last 7 years.
3CardMonte
']I don't understand why you guys think his weight is going to be an issue. He is said to be in excellent shape by people who know him. And what else are they gonna say...they want Lavar to get paid. Lavar could be great. The problem is he thinks he already is.
ouvan59
']I don't understand why you guys think his weight is going to be an issue. He is said to be in excellent shape by people who know him. And Drew Rosenhaus said that Willis McGahee was going to be ready to play by the start of training camp. I'm not saying that Lavar won't be in great shape but you'd have to take anything the people who know him best with a grain of salt. And by the way, if Lavar does not meet the incentives, most of which are easily attainable, that means he is seriously overpaid. It means that he is either injured or just stinks and $3.7M is quite a bit to pay for a cypher. Of course, if he finally realizes his potential and becomes the LB we were hoping for all along then you have a deal.
