88Comrade2000
JMS- James Michael Strasinki- not sure about his last name. He's the guy behind Bablyon 5. He said he had a great idea for a new trek show but nothing come off it and he's currently working on a new show. Star Trek needs to be taken away from Rick Berman- who destroyed the franchise. DS9 was different but good. Voyager had potential but it was poor show- though I sure loved Breast errr Seven on Nine. Enterprise was the same way. Good potential but didn't get executed. Any future Trek: movies or new tv shows- needs to be in the hands of people who have never done trek. The current people ruined the franchise. I welcome JJ Abrams but not sure about the premise of the movie. I think any new movie or show needs to be set in the future- beyond NEXT Generation. scottie
I hope this doesn't have anything to do with the numbers that the Star Wars prequels brought in.
steveo21
This is good news. THE WRATH OF JJ ABRAMS 04.25.06 By Devin Faraci Contributing sources: Empire Online http://chud.com/nextraimages/2khaaaaan.jpgExtra, extra! Empire Online explodes the latest Star Trek rumors in a gripping interview with Mission: Impo:ssible: 3 director JJ Abrams where he denies that his take on Trek XI will be Starfleet School Daze with Kirk and Spock. And get this – he may not even be directing it! "The whole thing was reported entirely without our cooperation,” he tells the cinephiles Limeys. "People learned that I was producing a Star Trek film, that I had an option to direct it, they hear rumours of what the thing was going to be and ran with a story that is not entirely accurate." Abrams won’t discuss what his take on XI will be, but doesn’t rule out an appearance by the original series favorites: "Those characters are so spectacular. I just think that… you know, they could live again." It was all too weird to be true. Honestly, if M:I:3: is as good as people keep saying, I have a hard time believing the guy will jump into the director’s chair of that sagging space franchise. He’ll surely be a hands on producer, but I’m betting someone else takes the conn.
flyingtiger1013
I have always hoped for a Klingon series. The story lines would be fresh and the politics involved in some of the TNG shows were interesting.
TK
The 'Acadamy' plot has been floating around for years. I believe it was spawned from a DC Comics Star Trek Annual story that Peter David wrote. And that story was written somewhere around 10-15 years ago. It may have been that Berman was wanting to use Enterprise as a set up or lead in into Acadamy.
