brandies
Add any favorites Jamar Williams LB 6-1, 245 Arizona State Strengths: Smart and has outstanding football instincts...Has solid speed...Powerful and an explosive hitter...Displays good strength...Has a good motor and is all over the field...Very productive and experienced...Team leader with top-notch intangibles. Weaknesses: Does not have the ideal height you look for...Is not very quick or agile...Can be too aggressive at times...Lacks discipline and will tend to take himself out of plays...Struggles in coverage...Might only be a situational player in the pros. Notes: A three-year starter...Doesn't have all the physical tools you'd prefer but it's the stuff you can't measure that makes him what he is...While he may never be a star this guy is not the type you should doubt...At worst a backup and special teamer. . . . Brian Iwuh LB 6-1, 234 Colorado (SS) . Strengths: Great athlete with excellent quickness...Explosive and a good tackler who hits like a ton of bricks...Very instinctive and flows to the ball...Is very physical and brings that mentality to the secondary...Is solid in coverage due to fluid hips and nimble feet...Versatile and has experience at both safety and linebacker...Should be an excellent special teams player...Has upside once he can focus on one position. Weaknesses: A 'tweener without a true defined position...Is undersized as a linebacker but doesn't have ideal speed for a safety...Needs to get stronger, especially in the lower body...Projecting a player to a different position is always a risky proposition, although he has played safety in the past...Can be too aggressive at times...Raw and will require coaching and development to reach his full potential. Notes: Could project to safety or outside linebacker at the next level depending on the scheme...Intriguing prospect who has consistently made plays regardless of what position he was playing...Different teams will likely have varying grades on him. . . . Spencer Havner LB 6-3, 239 UCLA . Shows solid instincts...Has good range...Decent blitzer and makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage...Has a great motor...Is able to turn and run in coverage...Very competitive and intense...A hard worker with great intangibles. Weaknesses: Does not have the size or bulk you look for...Speed is only average and he doesn't play as fast as he times...Struggles against the run...Has trouble taking on and shedding blockers...Only an average tackler...Look unatural in coverage. Notes: Doesn't have ideal physical tools but he gets the job done and played well as a senior...Probably more of a backup / situational type of prospect who may never be a star but could make a team and contribute under the right circumstances. . . *Kai Parham LB 6-3, 255 Virginia . . Travis Williams LB 5-11, 216 Auburn . Strengths: Has outstanding instincts...Has good speed and quickness with the range to make plays sideline-to-sideline...Very aggressive and loves the game...Looks natural and does a great job in coverage...Superb in pursuit and is always around the action...A team leader with top intangibles...Experienced and very productive. Weaknesses: Extremely undersized and needs to bulk up but may not have the frame to do so...A 'tweener who might not have a clear pro position...Has a lot of trouble taking on and shedding blocks...Lacks the speed he would need to make the move to the secondary...Is not very stout versus the run...Has a limited upside. Notes: Might have to move to safety at the next level...Cousin of Pittsburgh Steelers RB Duce Staley...Good college player whose pro future is uncertain due to physical shortcomings...Might have to make his mark as a backup and on special teams. . . Tim Dobbins LB 6-2, 245 Iowa State . Strengths: Has decent size and a solid, cut frame...A good athlete with excellent timed speed...Strong and tough with a fiery demeanor...Big hitter who can lay the lumber...Hard worker with a top motor...Productive...Has excellent intangibles. Weaknesses: Is not very agile and doesn't play up to his measurables...Struggles versus the pass and lacks great range...Is not very instinctive and often a step slow...Can take on and shed blocks better...Might only be a situational player in the pros. Notes: JUCO transfer who started the last two years for the Cyclones...Definitely has some ability to work with and could develop...Looks like a great special teamer if nothing else...Might be just a two-down thumper but has the tools to be more. Clint Ingram LB 6-1, 240 Oklahoma Stength: Has good size and plays even bigger...Very athletic with pretty good speed...Has great range from sideline-to-sideline...Good run defender...Makes plays all over the field and is always around the ball...Very solid in coverage...Still has upside. Weaknesses: Can be too aggressive at times...Lacks great instincts and smarts...Gets caught where he isn't supposed to be...Better athlete than football player...Might have been aided by a strong supporting cast that surrounded him...Too inconsistent. Notes: Yet another Sooner linebacker prospect who has a good shot of making it at the next level...Has a lot of tools to work with and at the very least he should be a solid backup and special teams player...Could end up being a steal on Day Two . . William Kershaw LB 6-2, 230 Maryland Shows solid instincts...Has good range...Decent blitzer and makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage...Has a great motor...Is able to turn and run in coverage...Very competitive and intense...A hard worker with great intangibles. Weaknesses: Does not have the size or bulk you look for...Speed is only average and he doesn't play as fast as he times...Struggles against the run...Has trouble taking on and shedding blockers...Only an average tackler...Look unatural in coverage. Notes: Doesn't have ideal physical tools but he gets the job done and played well as a senior...Probably more of a backup / situational type of prospect who may never be a star but could make a team and contribute under the right circumstances. . CPstretch
pretty much all these guys would be the equivalent of robert mccune, who was a late round LB choice of ours last year...only these guys dont have his biceps
bulldog
I think the Redskins will take a linebacker early on while using most of the late round picks for offensive and defensive line depth. We may also see a young blocking tight end brought in as well. I really doubt the Skins will look to grab a corner. Kenny Wright will help get us through 2006 and then I think the club will look to add a young corner high in 2007.
thebeast21
I'd love to have Parham just cause he was a VA kid and he has tons of potential... who cares about his 40 time he can still play
