Riots

I was watching some show with my girl on CourtTV about riots.

I never been in one and I hope I never do. But I saw some crazy stuff on there. Like the LA riot after they beat up that dude. I also saw the joint when the Crackboys fans rioted after the superbowl. I just wanted to know has anybody been in a riot before. And what the hake you were rioting for. Big riots small riots it don't matter.

I was involved in the riot @ UMD after we lost to Duke in the Final Four. My friends and I walked out of his fraternity and there were about five people starting a bonfire. Ten minutes later there were about two thousand people. Eventually the polica and fire rescue came but had to reverse when the mob started rocking the fire engines back and forth and they almost toppled. One kid tripped while trying to jump over the bonfire and inhaled too much smoke. He wasn't breathing and laying right next to me. It was at that point that I realized how out of control things had gotten. Fortunately, fire rescue was right there and they came over and recusitated the kid. My friends and I decided, at that point, to leave, but we have a picture of us with about two thousand crazed rioters and a huge bonfire behind us. i wish I had a copy to post.

I was attending UMD when we won the tourney. My friends and I decided to go to Knox Road and just witness all of the melee .... I've never seen thousands of drunk kids climbing light posts, jumping from the roof of Ratsies, breaking windows at the bike shop and God knows what else ....

Well, first and foremost, there would have been a lot of sore, wet kids on the lawn and street if they got within 30 yards of my firetruck.

I've been involved in breaking up a small riot/ huge bar fight when a firefighter. St Patricks day, 1980. About 300 patrons of two bars were fighting on the sidewalk, street and alley between the bars. The PD called us in being things were out of control. The rig we had had a true PTO (Power take off) for the high presure pump. We're able to slowly drive past, with hoses pushing about 250 PSI blowing people off their feet into each other causing people to pile up somewhat. One moron tried to charge the truck with pool que in hand. I'd venture a guess he still regretts it till this day for ever trying.

I caught him about 8 ft from the truck square in the chest with a straight stream that could cut through sheetrock that put him tumbling after bouncing off the ground like a ball first. If not for a parked car stopping him dead, he would have gone a solid 25 yards.

About 60 some odd drunks would up in the slammer that night, and 13 in the hospital, but only one due to action taken by the fire dept. ;)

I remember my 7th birthday for a few reasons. I got my first real fishing rod, my first set of boxing gloves, and my mom and dad being very worried about what was going on in the city that night, watching at the windows for signs of trouble. That afternoon, people had been throwing bottles, bricks, and anything else they could get their hands on from roofs at my dad and his coworkers because they were white guys working in a predominantly black neighborhood, April 4th......1968.

I don't remember if there were actually any riots, but NYC had it's moments that day.

I'd love to riot. I would be in awe of the destruction. In reality the legal aspect of consequence for getting caught deters me from joining a riot.

Yeah, bashing someone's head with a brick or burning down the business that someone worked their entire life for would be awesome.

I guess you could call it a riot. New Years 2000 in New Orleans on Bourbon Street, the whole street is so packed that you dont really have enough room to get your beer to your face, much less move around, and a noise rings out like that of a gun. Im not sure if it was one or not, but the WHOLE ****ING MOB PANICKED. Shoving and pushing and I know some people mustve gotten trampled. It was pretty damn intense for like 10-20 minutes.

Then it calmed down and was back to normal. Wierd.

Ive also been in 3 seperate crowds that have gotten pepper sprayed, but they werent really "riots" as I understand the word.
