Big Weirdo
Nothing new here. Just a little blurb from the HOTW section of KFFL. Eagles | Team could be interested in J. Walker Sun, 16 Apr 2006 07:23:03 -0700 Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports there is speculation in Green Bay the Green Bay Packers will grant WR Javon Walker his wish and deal him. If Walker is traded, is it likely to happen draft week or during the NFL Draft. It appears the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers could be the front-runners for Walker. Green Bay has maintained it expects Walker to stay. But if a good enough offer comes along, including a draft pick, it might be tempting for the Packers to rid themselves of the distraction Walker is sure to create. :fingersx:

Renegade7
That'd be a great move by the Eagles if they manage to pull it off. IF they manage to pull it off.
Big Weirdo
My concern is the Broncos. They have two first round picks so they'd be willing to let go with considerably more. They would probably easily give up a second rounder. We know how much Shanahan likes to gamble.

True...and the non willingness of the Eagles to pay their players probably applies the same to dealing draft picks....oughta be interesting
Skins4481
The Packers have all along said that they will not trade Walker. Either he plays for them or doesnt play at all. There is no way in hell that the stingy ass Eagles give BOTH the Packers and Walker good enough deals to acquire his services. DEFINITELY not happening for the Eagles. Not to mention that KFFL has a lot of b.s. coming out it. This reminds me a lot of the Moulds/Eagles talk. We all know how that turned out! lol. Keep dreaming Eagles fans, keep dreaming. I agree that the Eagles will not get him because they won't pay the price. However, if GB gets a good offer I think they will take it. Their alternative is to sit him and get nothing. That is not bad if they don't get any reasonable offers, but good if they do. Talking to Packer people the FO does not have a problem with sitting him, but I can't believe they won't take a good offer.
eagles78
Hmm, why do I have a sickening feeling that the Broncos are going to pull of a trade at the last minute right before the Eagles simply because they have more to offer at this point? Enter Apotheosis
Because it would be a very Broncos thing to do. Besides, they like having a lot of options at WR and need a replacement for Rod Smith. Walker, Smith, Lelie, Watts, etc.
lovellj
I would be slightly worried about the 49er's too. If they're trying to load up Smith with weapons, they could sneak in here, and they have higher picks in every round than the Eagles. Plus, they've got our third this year if I'm not mistaken. That could be a pretty scary receiver combo too...: Walker Bryant Battle Davis :yikes:

Walker, Smith, Lelie, Watts, etc. That could be a dangerous Wr core if they pull that off and Walker gets back to himself. Icould see them throwing the 22 1st round if they know Walker will be back to old shape and the Packers giving them a 3rd and 4th from next years draft. But who knows? And both you and I and everyone else in their right minds know that the Eagles are too stingy to come anywhere CLOSE to that! The funniest thing I have heard is that the Eagles are "willing" to part with ONE of their FOURTH round picks!!! Man, those guys are living in a world of their own! I really dont think the Packers care about winning next year so thats why I am extremely confident(and the fact that they have said so) that they are willing to sit him. I think what Brett Favre did to him last year is screwed up. Especially how he keeps procrastinating his decision whether to retire or not this year. What a hypocrite. Now I can easily see San Francisco or Denver be a tad bit more realistic and offer a deal that would be good enough for the Packers to at the very least think about. Walking Deadman
Let's see: 1. Eagles using significant draft pick (s) to obtain a player that's needed......nope 2. Eagles spending $$$ to bring in needed FA to fill holes in roster.........not recently (see Moulds, Eric) He'll be going to the Broncos if anybody at all.....sorry Eagles fans, Walker would be a great pick up. You forget that Reid is really high on Walker. I'm sure you have heard that he was going to draft him, before the Packers traded down right in front of us and got him. I really believe that if Reid wants him, he'll take his best shot at obtaining him. What makes you think that Denver will be the only team that could land him? They've got 2 first round picks and they certainly won't give up either of them for Walker. Other than that, Philly has a higher pick in every round. Could be just me, but I just don't think Philly will offer as much as Denver or another team. I think he'd be a great addition to your team without the drama of "Mr. Cowboy's" tirades. We'll see.....but I don't think he'll be in Philly by week 1.

I mean, come on, R Brown - Pinkston - Gaffney = POTENT !! I'm sure that ST and AA are shaking in their cleats right now. PLEASE !!!

I wonder what you are going to be saying when your little bubble burst 13 days from now(or possibly even sooner IF Denver or San Fran trades for him). How 'bout we make a bet? If the Eagles land Walker, I will leave this forum and NEVER come back. If they dont, you leave and never come back. Do we have a deal?
