I love D Green as a player but I wouldn't vote for him just because of that. I don't know what his policies are. Ive seen enough born again in politics to last me a life time. Gibbs would be the only born again I would support because he knows how to keep it in check.

skinfan2k
we need these kinds of guys who acutally help the community and not these politicians who lie in front of your face to get your vote. Teresa43
I would vote for Darrell if I lived in Virginia. I believe he has character, loyalty and would be a great assett to the state senate. I live in PA and am voting for Lynn Swann for Govenor because of these same qualities.

fightforallDC
I saw his picture from far away in the Post, and I thought he was coming back!! I got really excited.... Then so dissapointed... Im not even sure if he could still play at such a high level.. But just being on the sidelines as a Cornerbacks coach would be great!!!
CliffBattles
I love DG, but am tired of celebs and politics. Also, the whole religious thing is a BIG turn-off. That is the foundation for many a failed tactical decision.

You should go back and study the founding fathers a little and find out what there religous stands were. Also, ask youself this. Ive seen enough born again in politics to last me a life time. Gibbs would be the only born again I would support because he knows how to keep it in check. Well said. I love Joe, and would give him my vote becuase I think he would work very hard to honestly represent folks and make things better for people. That said, he has to much integrity to ever get involved in politics. I have a really bad feeling that if Darrell runs, it won't have been his idea. RIDETHEWALRUS
I would vote for him only because he is a Republican and a Redskin. BTW... Everyone that says we need fewer politicians in politics doesn't understand how the game is played. If you aren't familiar with politics you will be very ineffective. Peregrine
You know, when it comes to politics, uninformed voters always talk about one thing... The persons policies. THATS NOT a good enough reason to vote for someone. We all know how corrupt politics is, politicians are so willing to lie about their policies, its not even funny. The one thing you want more than anything else is a high character, honest person, who will honestly try and make the right decision. The reason politics is so corrupt today is people vote based on what a politician tells them(I.E. His Convincing Lies) and not what kind of man he is, and how honest he is. Thats what DG is. In fact, I live right beside Louden County. My Brother lives there. Id vote for that.
RIDETHEWALRUS
Uninformed voters don't talk about policies, they talk about talking points. (i.e. tough on crime, agy marriage, illegal immigration, and my personal favorite "we need to get away from these DC outsiders, I am a man of the people") It is all b.s. the way our system is set up you have to be an insider to get anything done. I don't like the system the way it is, but I am forced to accept it. If you do not accept that politics is corrupt and become corrupt with them then you will get nothing for your constituency. DG may be a good man, he may fight with everything he has to do the right thing in politics, but if he doesn't know how to work the system then he will accomplish nothing. The reason the Republican party is trying to run DG in a very democratic county is they believe that democrats are idiots. They will forget their politics for a great Redskin, and I think the republicans are right. DG will become token of the Republican party, just a lap boy that they tell how to vote. Just my 2 cents (if you can't tell I am very cynical when it comes to politics).
The Batman
You should go back and study the founding fathers a little and find out what there religous stands were. Also, ask youself this. Are things better off or worse the farther we remove ourselves from God? I'm a Christian, and while I agree with your second statement, the concept that this country was founded on Christian ideals is a common misconception. Most of the Founding Fathers were either Atheists or Deists-otherwise known as the "clockmaker theory", Deism is the belief that God set the Earth into motion and did not intervene on its behalf ever again. This belief and others that are encompassed within it are not facets of Christianity and this country was not really founded on Christian ideals. :logo:
