steveo21
http://www.melodicrock.com/ THE ORIGINAL GUNS N ROSES, WITH THE CULT AS SUPPORT?: While Metal Sludge continue their crusade to get to the bottom of dealings within Velvet Revolver...a little extra info has come my way this week. If you were to believe the rumor mill, plans for a Guns N Roses re-union have firmed, with the upcoming tour dates expected to feature the original line-up (with drummer Matt Sorum from the Use Your Illusion line-up). Apparently the guys have already started rehearsals and plans for extending the current tour dates are being examined. Also coming to light this week - The Cult are apparently being looked at as a possible support band for the Guns N Roses tour. Additionally - from another source just today - a Velvet Revolver split could be announced very shortly...

CandaceM23
And what about the lawsuits? Are they just gonna push those under the rug for a while? There have been quite a few rumors over the last year of GNR getting back together.
Extreme
i'll say it now, this will NEVER happen. main reason being, they all hate the **** out of each other, and they all have new bands. velvet revolver is making plenty of money, and no reports of problems exist. this is total BS imo. scottie
Now all they have to do is get Axle Rose to stay sober long enough to show up My first thought when reading it was "how long will it take Axl to screw this one up". I was a big GNR fan back in the 90's. I hope for the best.
OaktonSkins/BushFan
I'm there.... if it ever happens. The Cult? Damn... I saw them back in '90 opening for Metallica at the Cap Center.

SkinsOrlando
This goes along with rumor I heard last week that Slash had left velvet. However, everytime reuinion talk starts up it fizzles out pretty rapidly.
codeorama
I hope it's true, not cause I like GnR, but maybe then STP would get back together. I know the DeLeo's have a project with the Filter singer, and maybe it will be cool, but STP rocks and I'd love to see them back together.

chomerics
It's funny, the people who want it to happen have never seen them live. . .the people who don't all have. What does that tell you  I think for once Oakton and myself are in agreement.
chomerics
I hope its true. Hopefully they're not too old and hopefully they wont suck. They will suck, ther were the worst band I've EVER seen, by far. I would rather go and see Barry Manilow and shove a red hot poker up my pee hole then to watch that horror show again

Grimm
I hope this is true, some of those new songs were alright, "Better" and "Madagasgar" being the best of these, and I always wanted to see The Cult live
MoeRedskins
I have never seen them live, so I would love for them to get back together and do a tour. But then I know the lnog history of Axel Rose, so I expect this to happen when monkeys fly out of my butt.
Mark Moseley
Have you seen Axl Lately? ZoEd
I saw GnR in 87 and they rocked, saw them in 90 and they sucked ass. Had tickets to see them two years ago and they ditched. Screw Axl Rose, he's a punk biatch. Saw Velvet Revolver the night my wife went into labor with my daugter and they kicked ass. I'd like to see them stick together. Velvet Revolver has proven to be a more than viable replacement for GnR recently. For some reason, I just don't think any good will come out of them re-uniting... Axl is just a trainwreck of a human being. Gotta love Slash, though...

Commander PK
I don't buy it, but Melodicrock is usually a pretty reliable news sourse for Rock. Who knows? :whoknows: I think any reunion these guys tried would probably train wreck in a matter of months, if not weeks. I'd rather hear a more aggressive, classic rock style follow up to Velvet Revolver's debut, then see GnR reunite at this point. Also, a reunion would require a new album, expectations would be sky high, and people would want "Appetite for Destruction II" I don't think the band could ever pull that kind of aggression off again. Axl needs to stay away.

Spartacus87
Take Me Down To Paradise City, where The Grass Is Green And The Girls Are Pretty...................................,the Opening Riff Is The Best Of All-time. Correction- "Welcome to the Jungle" is the best opening riff of all time (next to "Back in Black" naturally). It always gets under my skin at Redskins games when they just play like 5 seconds of that intro riff then cut it off, and keep doing it over and over and over again in between downs or TV timeouts. Just play the entire damn song at halftime or something, but stop teasing me with the guitar intro and Axl continuously going "oaaaaaaahhh." I don't buy it, but Melodicrock is usually a pretty reliable news sourse for Rock. Axl needs to stay away. This post is spot-on :applause: . I'd much rather see Velvet Revolver stick around rather than break up for a doomed very short term GnR reunion. I think Velvet Revolver is one of the best things going right now in rock music, and the new GnR that Axl's created with Buckethead and company should focus on releasing "Chinese Democracy" instead of any kind of reunion tour. I mean seriously, that album's been on delay for what, a decade now?
