Mike Imoh was on hand today at Redskins Park. He might not even get drafted, it seems like he is not on anyone's radar. Maybe due to his injury history. But, when he was in the game he was a force for VT.

I did hear we have an opening in the turf management department. Hopefully he cleaned up his resume before dropping it off.

I still don't like Imoh. He played for Robinson when I went to Centreville high school, and, he got into trouble while at Tech with Marcus Vick. Not sure what he'd be doing around park.

We already have a short RB in Rock Cartwright, who is probably much better than Imoh.

the Redskins are three deep at tailback and that's before we try and figure out how the team is going to use Broughton.

I don't expect to see any draft picks be backs. You will see some UDFAs to fill out the roster but I don't think any will make the final 53 for the opener.

If he went to VT he is trouble.

Thats probably the most ignorant post I've seen on these boards. Its unfortunate that our cornerstone players like darrel tapp and jeff king are completely overlooked by fans of other ACC/college football fans, and instead all they care to base our 'thug' program on is Marcus Vick. He was obviously a thug but thats no reason to group our entire football team or university into that same category just for the actions of one.

As far as Imoh goes, his biggest asset in college was being quick and agile, but I doubt he'll have much luck in the NFL because hes way undersized and NFL players are too quick, best of luck to him though.

I dont really follow my high school since I graduated and am about to graduate from college, but I still see things that happen. The Concorde district was remade, throwing Robinson in with already strong Centreville, Westfield, Herndon, Oakton, Chantilly. Robinson/Lake Braddock are the rivals, as well as Centreville/Chantilly are. Seems like for the sake of football though, all of the Concorde District teams are rivals of each other, save for Chantilly as they have not done much since 2000 it seems.

Either way, I still dont like Robinson, haha.

The actions of one...you have to be kidding me.

There has been a lot more at VT than Marcus Vick...there were even more players involved with that incident. For example, Imoh. You are right, players like Tapp, King and Brian Randall are good players and good people, but Beamer has let his program get overrun by questionable players and discipline has become a major problem over the last decade. A friend of mine was a player at VT and got into a good amount of trouble, but was never diciplined because of football. He was even amazed at what he got away with in retrospect.

It is a lot more than Marcus Vick. Granted, people probably overstate the problem, but you are understating it. Just watch the team on the field and their actions. Jimmy Williams is one of the most talented players in the draft this year, but I would not want him on the Skins because of his repeated actions on the field. Check out his conduct in the Gator Bowl this past year. That game as a whole was a disgrace for Virginia Tech, and VT won. Their behavior was despicable.

As I said earlier, people may overstate the problem, but that is what the program is being known for. If Beamer does not get off his ass and dicipline players, that is going to be the way it is for a while.

Strengths: Is a quick, shifty and powerful runner for his size. Is tough and aggressive. Runs bigger than his size would indicate. He shows very good initial quickness and burst through the hole. He runs with very good leverage and body control. Has excellent COD skills. Shows vision and patience. Will consistently find and hit the cutback lane. He is shifty in space and will make some defenders miss. He runs with a good center of gravity and will drag some tacklers after initial contact. He protects the football well. Shows good awareness and is a smart football player.

Weaknesses: Is undersized. Lacks ideal bulk. Runs hard but won't be able to push the pile as a short-yardage ball carrier. Is not big enough to hold up as a fulltime RB, which severely limits his NFL upside. He has character and durability issues. He has limited experience as a receiver. Shows good hands but does not have a good feel for reading coverages or finding soft spots versus zone-coverage. He needs a lot of refining as a route runner. Lacks ideal size in the phone booth as a blocker. Will get overwhelmed at the POA by bigger NFL linebackers.

Overall: Imoh served as a reserve running back behind Kevin Jones (Lions) during his first two seasons at Virginia Tech (2002-'03) before taking over as the starter during his junior season in 2004, when he finished with 720 yards and six TDs on 158 carries. Imoh was suspended for three games in 2004 after being found guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after he and two teammates gave alcohol to 14- and 15-year-old girls at the players' apartment. Imoh was also sentenced to 10 days in jail and fined $750. Imoh has continued to split carries as a senior in 2005 and he missed one game (Marshall) due to an ankle injury so far this season. He finished the season having rushed for 419 yards and four TDs on 106 carries. He also added 40 yards on seven receptions. Imoh lacks Humes' size and power, but Imoh is quicker, faster and more elusive. Imoh has enough shiftiness and power for his size to emerge as a solid change-of-pace reserve at the next level. He also shows some upside as a kickoff return specialist. However, his lack of NFL "measurables" will cost him on draft day, as will his "alerts" regarding character and durability. Imoh is too much of a risk and lacks enough upside to bother spending a draft pick on him. In our opinion, he's nothing more than a priority free agent.

By haters my friend by haters. As far as the Gator Bowl, Jimmy Williams being ejected was one of the most riddiculous ejections I have seen in my life. And the head official of that crew has had some interesting games before, just go ask Nebraska fans how they feel about him. They lost control of that game real quick, and there was a lot of **** talking on both sides

Imoh and Hill both stayed out of trouble after the February 2004 incident. Marcus however found some more of it, because clearly something doesn't click in his head

If you don't mind me asking, curious who your friend is? Seems like everyone has a "friend" that played football for VT

As far as the original intent of this post. Say no to Imoh. Too small, not fast enough, terrific college player, holds the single game rushing record at VT, but his skills don't translate real well on the field in the NFL

Personally, the player I really want us to bring is Jonathon Lewis. Great guy, and would be an excellent plug at DT. Very quick, and has the ability to dominate the middle of the line of scrimmage. And he is most likely going to fall to the 2nd day

I went to H.S with Imoh, graduating the year before and the year after Robinson won the state h.s AAA championships in 98' and 00'. For those of you who hate on the rams you should listen to Herbstreit, who when calling a VT game, said the school has possibly the most respected football program in the state next to a couple of the Hampton area teams under Mark Bendorf. About Imoh, the kid is classless, he forgot where he came from and figured his spot at VT was his meal ticket. I know this from several of the people he hung out with in H.S who said he turned his back on them to hang out with the likes of Marcus. He could be an interesting kick returner in the mode of a dante hall or antonio brown. Dont forget the guy was the virginia state offensive player of the year his senior year which puts him in pretty good standing considering the players in his recruitment class. I wouldnt count him all the way out, though the coaches will see right through his character. For all those wahoos out there (and other hokie haters) watch out for this years hokies, as always they are under the radar due to a disapointing november in Blacksburg. However, this team is loaded with young talent. Sean Glennon, in his only real appearance the season before last had a gaudy qb rating and threw for 2 TD's.
