bbuzz1962
Hey guys, I am just as excited about our chances this season as anyone. We have done well in free agency, and had a very good team before we started this off season free agency picks. It seems that we are all a bit ****y, which is good, confidence is a part of being a championship team, but being humble, and respecting your opponents, is also a part as well. I think we all like to joke Joe Gibbs each week as he describes his next opponent as a very good team, and hard to beat, etc. The truth is, this league has become a league of parity, and any team can win on any given day. Paul Tagliabue did one thing correct before he retired, and that was building a league that was going to deliver very good games no matter who was playing. Now of course hating Dallas, New York, and Philly is in our blood, and we must beat our chests, and act like we are the **** when it comes to those teams. What I worry about are teams like the Texans, Saints, teams who want to prove something. These are the ones I worry about. So don't think these games just go in the win column. We have to play them, and play them just like they are Dallas, NY, and Philly.

tuna_h8r
i think confidence is a good thing, unless it affects work ethic. and if there's one coach in the league who can keep his team from slipping in preparation, it's JJG. i just hope the Skins stay healthy, as that to me is the only thing that culd keep this team out of the playoffs in 06. i have this feeling that one of the teams in the NFC East is going to have a problem eith injuries like the eagles did last year, and that team is going to perform a lot like the eagles did in 05. i just hope it's not our team. ddub52
everyone has high hopes for their team. theres nothing wrong with that. i have a feeling that we may have one of the most exciting years in Redskins history, with a chance to make NFL history. Critz1407
I believe at times when we post us as fans maybe be a little overconfident. Our offense is good, but its not like our defense are that bad. Sure I think we will score more points and be more efficient on offense, but I don't look for too many blow outs, I look for alot of close games and hopefully the combination of our Awesome defense and our offense producing alittle more we can pull them out. As for the player I fell that they know what is in store and thats why almost everyone is in strid to get better, so I have no worries about our players. As for us I think that we have gotten a little but too ****y.
Warhead36
We can be as ****y as we want. That doesn't mean the team feels that way.
AllAboutSkins08
i understand your concern. a lot of us have gotten very confident in the skins with everything they've done last season and the huge possibilities we have for next season. some of us have gotten overconfident and feel like we're no doubt gonna win the super bowl. being humble is definitely a necessity because anything can happen in the nfl, especially since a lot of us are claiming such a huge season from the redskins when we're not even close to the start of the season (there's plenty of off-season left for things to go wrong). but this is what so many of us have been waiting for. the chance to be overconfident in our team. it's great just to be able to be overconfident in your team because you know that although it's not a 100% guarantee, it's very possible that we could go to the super bowl and win it. so i guess what i'm saying is it's not good to be overconfident, but it just feels so good. CPstretch
i just hope we arent setting ourselves up for disappointment. last year, i was expecting a really lousy season, i had actually predicted 3-13. so winning the first 3 games was a very pleasent surprise

Enter Apotheosis
It's not overconfidence because the first time we screw up during the regular season, everyone is going to do a total 180...
bbuzz1962
Great thoughts guys, I know fans can be as confident as they want, but the truth be told, their are several teams out their that have the ability to go the distance. This team must stay humble, keep their heads on straight, and play each game like they did the last 5 games of last season. If they do that, we as fans, can stay confident, and see something very special develop this season.
SkinsNoles21
"I'm not ****y, i'm confident, and if you tell me i'm the best, it's a compliment." I'll leave that to Joe Gibbs and our HALL OF FAME coaching staff to handle the players getting overconfident, and as far as the fans....Isn't that what we are supposed to do. Our job in the offseason with a team as loaded as ours is to destroy the hopes of Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants fans...especially since we all know who really owned the NFC East last year.....when was the last time we were able to say that, after all the down years we gotta take advantage! pvkeeper19
I just watched 4th and 10 on ESPN and Skip Bayless--who hates everybody--said he thought the Redskins would be the division champs this season, and a "bona fide Super Bowl contender." Compliments like this from the media are few and far between for our team, so it's natural we'd get excited about it. Now, I'm not saying I'm predicting a Redskins Super Bowl this year, but for the first time in a long time people can't laugh at me for thinking it's a possibility, and that's something to be excited about. Phixius
15-1 yeah Cant take the Redskins from the fight Take the fight out of the Skins. Sit back relax.
NavyDave
Not overconfident just very optimistic about our chances. And unlike some I predicted 10-6 last year. I'll wait til the last preseason game to make this season prediction, however if the offense under saunders is close to what he has produced the past 7 years to go with our Defense will there be anything wrong with our fans having big toothy grins. THEArmchairQB
I think we should approach this season from the POV of knowing who we can beat, and who we should beat. It's easy to put games like Hou and Tenn in the win column because those are games that we can and should win. There is nothing wrong with confidence coming into a season, its part of a winning team. The key is to remember that these games still have to be played. In the NFL anything can happen over the course of a few weeks. The teams that should win aren't always the ones that do win. Remember that we still have to go and beat the other team, but know that we can do it.
PF Chang
I'd say we as fans only look overconfident because of past failures. What's the justification for dismissal of the Redskins? "They've tore up free agency before and it didn't work." Except it's not Deion anymore. But what do past failures have to do with 2006? I'm not saying we're going to be 15-1, but we are in a better position than most teams, with proven performers both on the field and on the sideline.
